Liverpool have identified Borussia Dortmund star Daniel Svensson as a potential replacement for departing club legend Andy Robertson, reports German website Fussball Daten.

Robertson will leave the Reds when his contract expires at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on a nine-year spell at Anfield.

The Scot established himself as one of the Premier League’s best left-backs following his 2017 arrival from Hull.

The 32-year-old has already agreed his next move, with Robertson set to join Tottenham in the summer, though that is dependent on the north London side consolidating their top flight spot.

Reds eyeing Svensson to bolster at left-back

And Liverpool are now eyeing up replacements for Robertson despite signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth last summer.

The Merseyside giants are wary about being caught short at left-back ahead of next season with Dortmund’s Svensson among potential targets for 2024-25 Premier League champions.

The 24-year-old is first-choice at left-back for the Bundesliga champions, and Dortmund would demand at least €45m to consider cashing in on the Sweden star.

Liverpool have previously been credited with an interest in Svensson having considered a move for the Swede prior to his switch to Dortmund in 2025.

Liverpool would face competition for Swede

However, the Reds aren’t the only side reportedly monitoring Svensson, with a number of Premier League sides also keeping tabs on the Dortmund ace.

Premier League leaders Arsenal are believed to be monitoring Svensson, while Leeds have also been credited with an interest in the former Nordsjælland star.

Additionally, Serie A giants Inter Milan, AC Milan and Atalanta are also reportedly interested in Svensson, who has two goals and two assists in the Bundesliga this season.

Slot's side on the cusp of securing Champions League spot

Liverpool can all-but wrap up a Champions League spot on Sunday when they make the trip to Old Trafford to face rivals Manchester United.

Arne Slot’s side are seven points clear of sixth-placed Brentford with four games to play owing to a three-game winning streak.
