Liverpool are expected to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola in a bid to bolster their frontline this summer, reports French publication Le10 Sport.

The Reds are set to strengthen their attack when the transfer window opens despite splashing the cash last year.

The Merseyside outfit spent big to sign Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz from Newcastle, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively.

Barcola eyed as potential Gakpo replacement

However, with Mohamed Salah departing the club this summer and concerns over Cody Gakpo’s future at Anfield, Liverpool are set to dip into the market to bring in at least one new wide forward.

Barcola has previously been linked with a switch to Liverpool, though the former Lyon man wasn’t keen on a move to the 2024-25 Premier League champions.

The 23-year-old's stance on a potential exit may have softened, however, having struggled to nail down a regular spot for PSG this season, starting just 19 league matches.

The France international also finds himself behind Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the left wing pecking order at the Parc des Princes, particularly in the Champions League.

As such, a change in scenery may benefit Barcola, who has struck 10 times in Ligue 1 this season and is expected to make the France World Cup squad.

Barcelona also monitoring Barcola

Liverpool aren’t the only side keeping tabs on Barcola, with La Liga champions Barcelona also monitoring the young winger.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres saw the Blaugrana successfully defend their crown as they downed rivals Real Madrid 2-0 at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday night.

What’s more, Barcola isn’t the only wideman the Reds are tracking, with RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande also a target for Liverpool.

The Ivorian has shot to prominence in the Bundesliga this season, and his performances in Germany’s top tier have not gone unnoticed.

Reds chasing Champions League finish

Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw with rivals Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday, and combined with Bournemouth’s win at Fulham, Slot’s side are still not guaranteed a Champions League spot next season.

Indeed, they face a crunch clash with Aston Villa on Friday night, the Villans level on 59 points with Liverpool following their 2-2 draw at Burnley.
