Arsenal have sent a 'compelling offer' to 16-year-old Leicester star Jeremy Monga, according to well-respected X account HandofArsenal.

Monga, 16, has played 27 times in the Championship this season, scoring once and assisting twice. The winger's development is clearly going very well and he has the opportunity to take a big step.

Indeed, it's reported that Arsenal have presented him with a 'compelling offer' which included mapping out his first-team pathway.

If a deal is agreed, the Gunners would have to also agree a compensation fee with Leicester.

Given Monga is only 16, his current club have no rights over him, as he can't sign a contract until he turns 17. That means Arsenal or any club would be able to swoop before his next birthday, in July.

Whether Monga accepts their offer remains to be seen, but it's known that he has the eyes of far more big clubs on him as a result of his quick progression through the ranks at Leicester.

Leicester plan to turn away Monga suitors

TEAMtalk revealed in April that Leicester are planning to offer Monga his first professional deal when he turns 17, and feel the prospect of regular first-team football could help him choose them.

But that they've dropped down into League One might not help, especially with a host of sides on his tail.

The same report suggested that Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as Arsenal, are primed to make approaches for the young winger, and there have since been suggestions that the Red Devils have entered into talks to land him.

That pursuit is being led by the club's director of football, Jason Wilcox, who's already working hard to improve the United squad for Michael Carrick's first season as permanent boss of United.

There is also said to be interest from a lot more Premier League sides, including: Aston Villa, Newcastle, Liverpool, Tottenham, Brighton and Brentford.

Then, in Europe, there are also the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund keeping a close eye on Monga's progress.

A move abroad would mean less compensation would have to be paid to Leicester, and though they'll have no say in where Monga goes, the more they receive the better given they're likely to lose some big names having dropped into League One.
