Arsenal are considering a surprise move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, according to the Daily Mail.
Rashford moved to La Liga giants Barcelona last summer and has excelled during his loan spell at Spotify Camp Nou.
The Blaugrana are looking into the possibility of making his move permanent, though while a decision had seemingly been made over the England international’s future at the club, no progress has been made on a deal to keep Rashford in Spain.
Rashford transfer stand-off
Barcelona have supposedly discussed the idea of keeping Rashford for another season-long loan as they look to renegotiate the terms of the possible £26m switch, though United are not prepared to budge on the fee.
And should the stand off between Barcelona and United continue, Hansi Flick’s side would face competition from the Gunners for the 28-year-old, who has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in La Liga this season.
Arsenal are weighing up a move for a new left sided attacker in the summer despite the recent decent showings of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal looking to bolster their frontline
The north London side had pushed to bring in a left winger last year but failed in their efforts to sign Rodrygo or Anthony Gordon from Real Madrid and Newcastle, respectively.
Arsenal remain interested in Gordon, though Barcelona and German giants Bayern Munich are also monitoring the Magpies man.
Gunners closing in on silverware
Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a fine few days in their bid to land a major piece of silverware this season.
Indeed, Arsenal claimed a solid 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday evening, while title rivals Manchester City dropped points at Everton on Monday night as the pair played out a 3-3 draw at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
And Arsenal booked their place in the Champions League final with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Atletico Madrid.
The Premier League leaders will face either Bayern Munich or PSG in the final in Budapest later this month.
