Newcastle star Anthony Gordon has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich over a potential summer transfer to the Bundesliga champions, reports talkSPORT.

Gordon is expected to leave the Magpies this summer and a number of Premier League sides have been keeping tabs on the England international.

Arsenal and Liverpool are among those monitoring the former Everton man, while Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the winger.

Bayern backed to win Gordon race

However, Gordon now looks set for a move to the Allianz Arena after Bayern entered the race for the Newcastle man.

While both Bayern and Newcastle are yet to agree a fee for the 25-year-old, it seems only a matter of time before Gordon completes his move to the German giants.

Gordon hasn’t featured for Newcastle since the 2-1 loss at Crystal Palace last month and has been an unused sub for their last two matches against Brighton and Nottingham Forest.

Howe backing for Gordon

Magpies boss Eddie Howe, though, believes the wideman remains committed to the club despite talk of a summer exit.

“He wouldn't be in the squad if that wasn't the case. I judge that, as I said many times, not on communications elsewhere, I do that with my relationship with the player and how I see them train,” Howe said.

A new winger is Bayern Munich’s priority this summer as they look to build upon yet more domestic success.

Vincent Kompany’s side secured the Bundesliga title last month and face VfB Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final later this month.

Newcastle set for summer exodus

Gordon, meanwhile, is expected to be the first of a number of star players to leave Newcastle this summer.

Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Nick Woltemade have all been linked with a move away from St. James’ Park in the off-season.

Newcastle have endured a testing campaign and may yet finish in the bottom half of the table.

Howe’s side end the season with the welcome of relegation-threatened West Ham on Sunday before a trip to Fulham on the final day.
