Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly given his approval for the club to table a £100million bid for Benfica starlet Joao Neves. The Red Devils are in need of reinforcements this summer if they are to challenge the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal near the top of the Premier League. And Portuguese talent Neves is the talk of the transfer market having impressed for his boyhood club this season. The Daily Mail say United are favourites to land the 19-year-old, who has already earned three senior international caps for his country. Operating as a defensive midfielder, Neves has featured in every Liga Portugal match this season as Benfica look to chase down Sporting and claim back-to-back titles. The No87 rose through the ranks of the academy and is now drawing interest from several European powerhouses, despite having a contract until 2028. United have recently appointed Omar Berrada as their new chief executive and Dan Ashworth is on his way in as director of football, currently on gardening leave from Newcastle. It remains unclear whether Erik ten Hag will remain in charge beyond the summer but it seems there is a clear plan in place to improve the quality of the squad regardless of who is in the dugout.

Arsenal are willing to sell left-back Kieran Tierney this summer but want around £20m for the Scottish international, according to GiveMeSport. Caught Offside say Chelsea have yet to decide on Conor Gallagher's future with the England international drawing interest from Tottenham. Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United target Joshua Kimmich is holding off contract renewal talks with Bayern Munich, report 90Min.
