  • Lincoln are unbeaten in 25 fixtures and could seal the League One title with a victory over Stevenage Borough on Saturday.

  • Cardiff City could clinch the second automatic promotion spot with a win in what should be a tricky test at Reading.

  • Peterborough and Burton Albion are both just four points clear of the relegation zone ahead of their encounter this weekend.

There is another full set of League One fixtures on this weekend’s sporting schedule as the end of the 2025/26 campaign in England’s third tier comes into view.

On Saturday, a set of ten League One matches features two early kick-offs, though Stevenage’s clash with Lincoln at 3 pm is likely to generate the most attention, with the Imps hoping to secure the title with a win over Borough.

A day later, on Sunday, there are two more games from the division to enjoy, including the relegation six-pointer between Peterborough and Albion, alongside Port Vale’s skirmish with in-form Wigan.

Below, we’ve laid out predictions for every League One fixture on this weekend’s menu, starting with that lunchtime double-header.

Barnsley vs Bradford City (Saturday, 12:30 pm)

Adam Phillips missed a crucial second-half penalty in Barnsley’s 0-0 draw at Port Vale in midweek and the Tykes have now won only one of their last eight assignments in League One. Bradford were unfortunate in their narrow loss to Stevenage (0-1) a week ago, having dominated the stats for both possession and shots, though they are still in a prime position to secure a spot in the playoffs, and they can edge closer with a point at Oakwell.

Score prediction: Barnsley 1-1 Bradford City

Bolton Wanderers vs Huddersfield Town (Saturday, 12:30 pm)

Bolton’s thumping 5-1 win over Stevenage in midweek, aided by a double from loanee Amario Cozier-Duberry, all but booked their place in the playoffs, and Wanderers can sew things up on Saturday. However, Huddersfield won’t roll over easily. The Terriers have lost only once in their last eight matches, holding leaders Lincoln (2-2) and second-place Cardiff (1-1) during that run. A dogged Town outfit could frustrate Bolton here.

Score prediction: Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Huddersfield Town

AFC Wimbledon vs Plymouth Argyle (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Wimbledon continue to limp towards the finish line and their 2-0 loss at home to Stockport on Wednesday evening was their fifth successive defeat in League One. Plymouth meanwhile, came from behind twice to earn parity in the Devon Derby against Exeter (2-2) when last seen, though they will be determined to return with a win over the Dons to keep the squeeze on their playoff rivals.

Score prediction: AFC Wimbledon 0-2 Plymouth Argyle

Exeter City vs Stockport County (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Exeter were pegged back by a 90th-minute equaliser from Plymouth in last weekend’s Devon Derby, though the Grecians did concede 27 shots and 10 shots on target in that draw, and could have few complaints about the final result. In-form Stockport, who have won four and drawn two of their last six league games, could climb up to 4th with the right results on Saturday, and they can keep their end of the bargain with a victory at St. James’ Park.

Score prediction: Exeter City 1-2 Stockport County

Leyton Orient vs Rotherham United (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Leyton Orient played out a tepid 0-0 draw against Mansfield in midweek in a contest where both sets of players looked ready for the summer break. Rotherham meanwhile, lost 3-0 to Wigan on Tuesday evening to confirm their relegation to the fourth tier, and flattened by that result, the Millers are unlikely to rouse themselves enough to avoid defeat against Orient.

Score prediction: Leyton Orient 2-0 Rotherham United

Mansfield Town vs Luton Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Mansfield navigated a game of few chances at Leyton Orient successfully on Tuesday evening to keep themselves nicely nestled in midtable. Luton meanwhile, came from behind to beat Northampton late on in their own midweek test, relegating the Cobblers in the process. Jack Wilshere’s in-form Hatters have won six of their last seven games, including the EFL Trophy Final (vs Stockport), and motivated by their playoff pursuit, they can triumph again here.

Score prediction: Mansfield Town 0-1 Luton Town

Northampton Town vs Doncaster Rovers (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Northampton finally lost grip on their place in League One in midweek when they conceded an 85th-minute gut-punch goal to lose 2-1 at Luton. The Cobblers have failed to secure a single point in any of their last seven league matches, though margins were tight a few times during that abject spell. Yet, with their fate sealed, the pressure on Northampton’s players is lifted and they might be able to take something from their clash with temperamental Doncaster.

Score prediction: Northampton Town 1-1 Doncaster Rovers

Reading vs Cardiff City (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

An intervention in added time from Yousef Salech (94th minute) rescued a point for Cardiff at Huddersfield in midweek and pushed the Bluebirds to the brink of promotion. A win for City at Reading on Saturday would get them over the line, provided Stockport drop points at Exeter, however, toppling the Royals won’t be easy. Cardiff have drawn three of their last four games, while Reading have lost only once in 11 skirmishes at home. Another Bluebirds stalemate beckons here.

Score prediction: Reading 1-1 Cardiff City

Stevenage Borough vs Lincoln City (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Already promoted, Lincoln can secure the League One title this weekend if they match or better Cardiff’s result at Reading and on the cusp of celebration, the Imps are unlikely to take a backward step at Stevenage. Lincoln are unbeaten in a staggering 25 games in the league now, winning 20 of those along the way and they should have too much class for a Borough outfit that was dismantled by Bolton (1-5) on Tuesday.

Score prediction: Stevenage Borough 1-3 Lincoln City

Wycombe Wanderers vs Blackpool (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Wycombe boss Michael Duff has been critical of his players’ mentality in recent weeks, though Wanderers did show spirit to score a 100th-minute equaliser in their 3-3 draw at Huddersfield when they were in action last. Blackpool meanwhile, recorded a significant 3-1 win over Peterborough in their last test to move four points clear of the drop zone. The much-improved Seasiders have triumphed in four of their last six assignments, and they can dig in for at least a point at Adams Park.

Score prediction: Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Blackpool

Peterborough vs Burton Albion (Sunday, 1:00 pm)

Both Peterborough (16th) and Burton (18th) are just four points above League One’s drop zone, so their encounter on Sunday feels like a significant juncture in this season’s battle for survival. With just one defeat in their last five matches, Albion head into this one in better form overall, though Borough have shown more attacking thrust, particularly at home, where they have notched 15 times in their last four outings. That extra zip in attack could give Peterborough the edge here.

Score prediction: Peterborough 2-1 Burton Albion

Port Vale vs Wigan (Sunday, 3:00 pm)

Port Vale’s time in League One is coming to an end and their relegation could be confirmed on Sunday when they host Wigan. Visiting Athletic continue to go from stride to stride under Gary Caldwell and their fine 3-0 over Rotherham in midweek lifted them up to a lofty 13th position. Vale, who have failed to score in three of their last four games, could toil again against Wigan’s robust back-three system.

Score prediction: Port Vale 0-1 Wigan
