Grimsby face an out-of-sorts Swindon in a playoff race six-pointer at Blundell Park in one of two lunchtime kick-offs.
MK Dons can confirm their automatic promotion with a win at home to Tranmere Rovers in the second early game.
Harrogate’s relegation will be confirmed if they lose to Walsall and Newport beat Oldham on Saturday.
The 2025/26 League Two campaign is in its final throes and on Saturday, 25th April, 22 teams will contest their penultimate fixtures of the season.
In total, there are 11 games in the works from England’s fourth tier, with kick-off times ranging from 12:30 pm to 3: 00 pm. With the League Two title, playoff positions and two relegation places still undecided, expect plenty of drama this weekend and next.
Ahead of the mayhem, we’ve assembled previews and score predictions for all 11 League Two fixtures on Saturday, starting with the division’s lunchtime entries.
Grimsby vs Swindon (Saturday, 12:30 pm)
Grimsby gave their playoff hopes a major boost in midweek when they snatched victory in the 93rd minute at Cambridge on Tuesday evening and a follow-up win over Swindon on Saturday would allow the Mariners to leapfrog the Robins into sixth spot. The visiting Robins have failed to win four of their last five fixtures in League Two, while Grimsby are chasing a fifth win in six matches. Momentum seems to be with the hosts here.
Score prediction: Grimsby 2-1 Swindon
MK Dons vs Tranmere (Saturday, 12:30 pm)
Fresh from a fine 3-1 win at Crewe, MK Dons have a chance to seal automatic promotion in front of their own fans when they host Tranmere on Saturday. Rovers’ 3-1 shock triumph at Cheltenham on Tuesday evening has eased some relegation pressure, though their chances of earning a second surprise win on the road feel slim. The Dons have lost only one home game in League Two since the start of October, and they are strong favourites to deliver the goods again.
Score prediction: MK Dons 2-0 Tranmere
Accrington Stanley vs Crawley (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Lodged in midtable limbo, Accrington Stanley have been playing with the air of a team with little motivation in recent weeks, as evidenced by their return of three defeats and a draw from their last four fixtures. Crawley meanwhile, are still in real trouble near the drop zone, though they have earned points of some description in six of their last nine assignments, and they could dig in for a share of the spoils on Saturday.
Score prediction: Accrington Stanley 1-1 Crawley
Barnet vs Gillingham (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Barnet still need favours from elsewhere to land a playoff spot at the death, though their run of five wins in six games has kept them in the chase. Only another victory over Gillingham will suffice on Saturday and Dean Brennan’s side are backed to get the result they need. The Gills lost heavily to Grimsby (1-4) in their last outing and they’ve lost six of their last nine away matches in the division. Barnet, who have red-hot Kabongo Tshimanga (six goals in four games) spearheading their attack, hold all the aces here.
Score prediction: Barnet 2-0 Gillingham
Bristol Rovers vs Cheltenham (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Bristol Rovers have built a serious head of steam in recent weeks and their 2-1 win over Tranmere last weekend was their ninth win in ten League Two fixtures. Their revival has come too late for a playoff push, however, they look motivated enough to maintain their excellent run at Cheltenham’s expense. Visiting Town would have been deflated by their 3-1 loss to Tranmere in midweek and they could wilt again on Saturday.
Score prediction: Bristol Rovers 3-1 Cheltenham
Cambridge United vs Barrow (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Cambridge were shocked by playoff rivals Grimsby (2-1) on Tuesday evening, but missed a penalty and hit the woodwork in that loss. Burned by their misfortune, Cambridge have an opportunity to bounce straight back when they host Barrow. The visitors are still in the relegation zone and have lost three of their last four games, conceding three times in the last two of those. Cambridge have League Two’s strongest home record since August and they can prove their mettle again on Saturday.
Score prediction: Cambridge United 3-0 Barrow
Chesterfield vs Crewe (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Chesterfield are still firmly in the mix for playoff positions and unbeaten in six games, the Spireites can push for maximum points in their final home game against visiting Crewe. Alexandra were turned over by MK Dons (1-3) and Grimsby (2-3) in their last two matches, and were unable to cope with their playoff-chasing opponents’ quality in the final third. Chesterfield will be targeting the same defensive weaknesses this weekend.
Score prediction: Chesterfield 3-1 Crewe
Colchester vs Notts County (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Colchester will compete at the JobServe Community Stadium for the final time this season on Saturday and keen to send their fans home smiling, they could put another dent in Notts County’s playoff ambitions. The visitors have lost four of their last six league fixtures and seem to be feeling the late-season squeeze. County have also been toppled in three of their last four away games, and more misery on the road could be in the works here.
Score prediction: Colchester 2-1 Notts County
Newport vs Oldham (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Newport were unfortunate in defeat at Cheltenham (0-1) last weekend, having outperformed their hosts for shots (16-9), while also striking the woodwork twice. The Exiles, who have won two of their last three home games, remain in desperate need of points to avoid the drop, and they could claim a season-defining victory against Oldham. Athletic have lost three times on the spin and seem to have run out of gas with the finish line in sight. Newport’s greater need could be a defining factor in this one.
Score prediction: Newport 1-0 Oldham
Shrewsbury vs Fleetwood (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Shrewsbury’s clash with Fleetwood is a late-season dead rubber, with both sides hovering in and around midtable, so don’t expect fireworks at The Croud Meadow. However, Salop’s determination to finish their home campaign on a positive note could provide the extra motivation they need to win a third successive home game. In addition, Fleetwood have won only once in five attempts on their travels, so a narrow home win is forecast here.
Score prediction: Shrewsbury 1-0 Fleetwood
Walsall vs Harrogate (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
A 98th-minute strike from fullback Jacob Slater gave Harrogate the most dramatic of wins over Colchester last weekend and pushed the division’s bottom club to within one point of Newport, just above the relegation places. Their heroics will count for little if they lose at Walsall, however, and the Saddlers were far too good for second-from-bottom Barrow last week (3-1). Harrogate heartbreak could be on the agenda at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.
Score prediction: Walsall 2-1 Harrogate
