2026 U.S. Women's Open at 2:00 p.m. EDT on USA Network, NBC, and Peacock.
Stateside coverage of the 81st edition of the U.S. Women's Open starts this afternoon at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California. The number-one women's golfer in the world, Nelly Korda, is hoping to place one spot better than she did last year, when she finished tied for second in this tournament. At the same time, Maja Stark is looking to become the first women's golfer to win back-to-back Open Championships in 25 years.
One question that will be answered: Will Nelly Korda finish the first round with 68 or fewer strokes?
MLB
San Diego Padres @ Philadelphia Phillies at 1:05 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
The 32-28 Padres are trying to snap a four-game skid as they conclude their series with the 32-29 Phillies this afternoon. Philadelphia secured back-to-back 3-2 victories over San Diego in each of the last two days. Considering both teams are far away from catching their divisional leaders, this contest will be incredibly important in the NL Wild Card race. If the Phillies win today, they'll overtake the Pads for one of the wild card spots in the National League. Philly's Zack Wheeler gets the start, while Lucas Giolito will be on the mound for San Diego.
One question that will be answered: As the MLB leader in home runs with 23, will the Phillies' Kyle Schwarber go yard today?
Cleveland Guardians @ New York Yankees at 1:35 p.m EDT on MLB.TV.
The 36-27 Guardians are trying to complete a three-game sweep of the 36-25 Yankees with an early afternoon matchup in the Bronx. New York pitcher Gerrit Cole struggled yesterday, giving up three home runs in Cleveland's 5-4 victory. Despite the loss, the Pinstripes find themselves just one game back from the 36-23 Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the AL East. The Yanks will need to find a way to generate offense without Aaron Judge, who remains out of the lineup with a rib injury. The pitching matchup will feature Cleveland's Slade Cecconi vs. New York's Carlos Rodon.
One question that will be answered: With an MLB-best 89 homers this season, will the Yankees hit at least two balls out of the park today?
Athletics @ Chicago Cubs at 8:05 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
The interleague regular season series between the 30-31 Athletics and the 32-30 Cubs ends tonight in Chicago. The Cubs are hoping to avoid the sweep after losses on Tuesday and Wednesday. A single by A's first baseman Nick Kurtz in the top of the tenth inning drove in the game-winning run as the Athletics downed the Cubbies 5-4. Chicago needs a victory to turn things around and snap a three-game losing streak. They'll be sending out Shota Imanaga, while the Athletics will be leaning on J.T. Ginn.
One question that will be answered: Considering he has the fifth-highest OPS in the Majors over the last 15 days, will A's outfielder Tyler Soderstrom get on base at least twice?
Los Angeles Dodgers @ Arizona Diamondbacks at 9:40 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
The 32-29 D-backs are looking to even up this four-game set after a terrible showing against the 40-22 Dodgers last night. LA pitcher Shohei Ohtani threw six scoreless innings, while outfielder Kyle Tucker recorded three hits, a home run, and two RBIs. Though they're far out of first place in the NL West, the Diamondbacks are only a half-game back from a wild card spot, so there’s extra motivation to have a strong outing today. Justin Wrobleski will be on the bump for Los Angeles. On the other side, Ryne Nelson will be Arizona's starter.
One question that will be answered: Will Shohei Ohtani record at least one hit since he leads the MLB in that category over the last 15 days (19 hits)?
WNBA
Atlanta Dream @ Indiana Fever at 7:00 p.m. EDT on Amazon Prime Video.
Two of the most exciting teams in the WNBA go head-to-head when the 6-2 Dream face the 4-4 Fever in Indiana. Not only will this game impact the WNBA's playoff standings, but this will also be the first time this season that rivals Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark will be on the court at the same time. Though Clark is listed as a game-time decision with a back injury, she probably won't miss an opportunity to show up Angel Reese on the hardwood.
One question that will be answered: If Clark can play, will we see these two teams get into a scuffle?
Golden State Valkyries @ Minnesota Lynx at 9:00 p.m. EDT on Amazon Prime Video.
Some of the best teams in the league will face off when the 6-3 Valkyries play the 7-2 Lynx on the road. With the highest winning percentage in the WNBA, Minnesota has done an excellent job of navigating the 2026 season without MVP candidate Napheesa Collier, who is still recovering from surgery on both of her ankles. In fact, the Lynx have the longest winning streak in the league at five games. However, they'll have their hands full with the Valkyries, who are by far the best three-point shooting team in the WNBA (39%).
One question that will be answered: In a battle between the best three-point shooting team in the league and the WNBA's second-best team in perimeter defense (28.1% allowed), will Golden State hit at least nine three-pointers?
NHL
Vegas Golden Knights @ Carolina Hurricanes Game Two at 8:00 p.m. EDT on ABC.
The Hurricanes are desperately trying to bounce back in the Stanley Cup Finals after a shocking loss in Game One. Despite going up early on the Golden Knights 2-0, Vegas stormed back to defeat Carolina, 5-4. Knights forward Tomas Hertl was able to break a 4-4 tie late in the third period to propel Vegas to a Game One victory. Prior to that matchup, road teams were 0-55 when trailing by multiple goals at any point during Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Canes will need to be much better tonight because teams that fall to 0-2 in a best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final series are 5-50 all-time the rest of the way through.
One question that will be answered: Will Vegas continue to build on the momentum from Game One and score first this evening?
