Golden Knights rally from three-goal deficit for 3-0 series lead over Avalanche
The Vegas Golden Knights came back from a three-goal first-period deficit to defeat the Colorado Avalanche and take a 3-0 series lead in the Western Conference Finals. If the Knights win again on Tuesday, they'll complete the sweep of the President's Trophy winner to advance to the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals.
In his first game of the series, Vegas captain Mark Stone notched a goal and an assist for two points on the evening. Simultaneously, forward Mitch Marner recorded two more assists, bringing his point total to 21 for the 2026 postseason, which leads all players in the playoffs.
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon uncertain for Game Four after injury
According to NHL.com, the status of the Colorado Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon is up in the air for Game Four of the Western Conference Finals after he suffered an injury last night. The Avs' superstar forward was absent at the start of the third period of Game Three after blocking a shot that struck his leg, causing him to fall to the ice. Though he eventually returned to the game, MacKinnon was clearly hurt and only managed to play four shifts in the third period of last night's contest.
"Obviously, we might have to kill him to get him off the ice. It's just the kind of person he is, and the competitor he is," Avalanche goalie Scott Wedgewood said. "He wants to win more than anybody, and that's just another example."

Yankees' Judge ends drought with walk-off homer vs. Rays
New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge ended his 11-game home run drought with a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning of yesterday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays for a 2-0 victory. That swing gave New York its first win over the Rays this season.
As things currently stand, the Rays have dominated the season series against the Yanks. Tampa Bay is 4-1 in games against New York and has a 4.5-game lead for first place in the AL East.
Blue Jays lose two stars to injury in loss to Pirates
The Toronto Blue Jays lost not one but two star players in their 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. In the top of the fifth inning, pitcher Dylan Cease, who signed a seven-year, $210 million deal with the Jays in the off-season, exited the game with discomfort in his left hamstring. A little while later, first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. left the matchup after he was hit on his right elbow by a pitch.
Toronto manager John Schneider said that there's a possibility Guerrero returns to the lineup today after X-rays on his elbow came back negative. However, Cease's status is up in the air as he is scheduled to undergo an MRI.
"He said he wants to make his next start," Schneider said of Cease. "Just see how he is the next couple of days, and just hoping for good news. He's obviously very, very valuable to us, so we'll make the decision in the next couple of days."
Marlins complete sweep of Mets with walk-off grand slam
In the bottom of the ninth inning with the bases loaded and one out on the board, Miami Marlins outfielder Heriberto Hernández hit a walk-off grand slam to defeat the New York Mets 4-0. That was Hernández's second homer of the season and his second home run in the last ten days.
With that win, the Marlins completed their sweep of the Mets after back-to-back victories on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, they still find themselves 11 games back from first place in their division and 4.5 games out of a wild card spot.
