Cleveland Guardians @ Kansas City Royals at 2:10 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
With their 3-1 victory yesterday over the Royals, the Guardians improved to 19-19, allowing them to overtake the Detroit Tigers for first place in the AL Central. Cleveland designated hitter Chase DeLauter recorded two hits for two RBIs, while the bullpen staff held KC to four hits in the game. Kansas City is turning to Seth Lugo, who has the best ERA amongst the Royals' starting pitchers (2.68). Meanwhile, Slade Cecconi will be the starter for Cleveland as he looks for his second straight win.
One question that will be answered: With nine earned runs in his last two starts, how many runs will Seth Lugo give up today, if any?
Cincinnati Reds @ Chicago Cubs at 2:20 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
This is just getting ridiculous. Every game in this series has been decided by one run, and the last two have gone to extra innings! Yesterday's contest went to extras after Chicago outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game 6-6. From there, a walk of first baseman Michael Busch in the bottom of the tenth inning drove in the game-winning run as the Cubs beat the Reds 7-6 to extend their win streak to an MLB-best eight games. Shota Imanaga gets the nod for Chicago, while Rhett Lowder will be on the bump for Cincinnati as the Reds try to avoid a four-game sweep and their seventh consecutive loss.
One question that will be answered: Will this game be decided in extra innings?
St. Louis Cardinals @ San Diego Padres at 10:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
Two of the best teams in the National League go head-to-head when the 21-15 Cardinals travel West to take on the 22-14 Padres in a four-game series. This matchup will probably have a big impact on playoff positioning down the line since San Diego and St. Louis are the first- and second-seeded Wild Card teams in the NL, respectively. This will also affect divisional races because the Cards are 3.5 games behind the Cubs, and the Padres are just a half-game back from the Dodgers for first place in the NL West. Michael King and his team-leading 2.95 ERA get the start for San Diego. On the other side, St. Louis will be going with lefty Matthew Liberatore.
One question that will be answered: Considering the Cardinals and Padres are tied for the sixth-most runs in baseball over the last 15 days (62), how many runs will they combine for tonight?
NBA
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Detroit Pistons Game Two at 7:00 p.m. EDT on Amazon Prime Video.
The Pistons were able to outlast the Cavs to take Game One, 111-101. After Cleveland's James Harden tied the game 93-93 with under 5:30 to go in the fourth quarter, Detroit went on an 18-8 run for the eventual win. Pistons center Jalen Duren scored six of his 11 points during that stretch while Cade Cunningham and Tobias Harris combined for 43 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in Game One. For the Cavs to even up this series, Donovan Mitchell and James Harden will have to limit their turnovers after giving the ball away ten times on Tuesday. Cleveland would also benefit from keeping the game close early and not falling into an 18-point hole like it did the last time out.
One question that will be answered: Will James Harden and Donovan Mitchell combine for nine turnovers or fewer?
Los Angeles Lakers @ Oklahoma City Thunder Game Two at 9:30 p.m. EDT on Amazon Prime Video.
LA dropped its sixth straight matchup against Oklahoma City as the Thunder downed the Lakers on Tuesday, 108-90. Even though OKC guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had his worst performance of the 2026 NBA Playoffs (18 points), it didn't matter because Los Angeles had no answer for forward Chet Holmgren, who scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Despite a valiant effort from the Lakers' LeBron James (27 points, four rebounds, and six assists), the rest of the team was 33.8% from the field as they combined for just 63 points on the evening. With guard Luke Kennard and forward Jarred Vanderbilt questionable for tonight with injuries, the Lakers could be in for a long night.
One question that will be answered: Outside of LeBron James, can four other LA players finish the evening with double-digit scoring outputs?

Carolina Hurricanes @ Philadelphia Flyers Game Three at 8:00 p.m. EDT on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max.
It might be time to hit the panic button in Philly. After taking a 2-0 lead in Game Two, the Canes rallied and scored two goals to force OT. From there, Carolina forward Taylor Hall scored the game-winning goal with 1:06 remaining in the first overtime period to lift the Hurricanes over the Flyers, 3-2. Now, the series shifts to Philadelphia, where the Flyers are 2-1 in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Unfortunately for the Philly faithful, the Canes are 5-1 in their last six road games. On the bright side, that lone loss came against the Flyers in Philadelphia. The Flyers desperately need to win Game Three. Otherwise, they'll be staring down the barrel at a sweep.
One question that will be answered: Will three goals once again be enough to lift Carolina over Philadelphia?
