MLB

Chicago Cubs @ Atlanta Braves at 7:15 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.

The Braves defeated the Cubs yesterday, 5-2, as Chicago's losing streak extended to three games. Atlanta outfielder Mike Yastrzemski went two-for-two with a home run and three RBIs. Conversely, it was a tough outing for Cubs pitcher Colin Rea, who gave up five earned runs in 4.1 innings. Chicago will be hoping that Shota Imanga will yield a better result with his 2.28 ERA (14th in the MLB). On the other side, JR Ritchie gets the nod for Atlanta.

One question that will be answered: Will Imanga record his third straight game with one earned run or fewer allowed?

San Diego Padres @ Milwaukee Brewers at 7:40 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.

The Brew Crew extended its league-leading win streak to five games with a victory over the Padres last night. Milwaukee shortstop Joey Ortiz hit his first home run since July 19th of last year as he accumulated two hits and two RBIs in three at-bats. San Diego starting pitcher Matt Waldron only made it through 2.2 innings after giving up six earned runs on eight hits. Tonight, Michael King will be on the bump for the Padres, while 24-year-old phenom Jacob Misiorowski will be the Brewers' starter.

One question that will be answered: How many 100+ MPH pitches will Misiorowski throw this evening?

St. Louis Cardinals @ Athletics at 9:40 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.

The Cards snapped a two-game slide with a 6-4 victory over the Athletics yesterday. St. Louis scored four runs in the first inning of last night’s game as they led wire-to-wire. Cardinals second baseman JJ Wetherholt had two hits, a home run, two RBIs, and a walk. Matthew Liberatore makes his third start of the month for St. Louis, and J.T. Ginn will be on the mound for the A's after going eight innings the last time he made a start.

One question that will be answered: Will these teams combine for at least eight runs tonight?

WNBA

Las Vegas Aces @ Connecticut Suns at 8:00 p.m. EDT on USA Network.

Following their bounce-back win on Sunday, the defending champion Aces will be hoping to improve to 2-1 against the Connecticut Sun, who are still looking for their first win of the campaign. Despite a crushing 33-point loss in its season-opener, Las Vegas returned to championship form with a 106-78 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. The same cannot be said for the Sun, who have the league's second-worst point differential so far this year (-38).

One question that will be answered: After putting up 19 points in her first two games of the season, will Aces MVP center A'ja Wilson score 20 or more points tonight?

Indiana Fever @ Los Angeles Sparks at 10:30 p.m. EDT on USA Network.

Caitlin Clark, the biggest star in the world of women's basketball, and the Fever will be in action tonight against the Sparks as both teams try to earn their first win of the year. LA was dominated by the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday, while the Fever fell to the Dallas Wings, 107-104, in the first season-opening game in WNBA history that saw both teams go over the century mark. Considering both squads have playoff aspirations, this contest could go a long way in determining who might actually end up qualifying for the postseason.

One question that will be answered: How many points will Caitlin Clark score?

NBA

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Detroit Pistons Game Five at 8:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN.

The series returns to Detroit with things tied up 2-2 after the Cavaliers won both of their home games. Guard Donovan Mitchell made history by scoring 39 points in the second half of Game Four. That tied a single-game record for the most points scored by a player in the second half of an NBA playoff game. Cleveland also managed to keep the Pistons' Cade Cunningham in check as he was held to 19 points, his lowest scoring output of the 2026 postseason. Tonight, either the Cavaliers or Pistons will take a 3-2 series advantage before this matchup shifts back to Cleveland.

One question that will be answered: Who will score more points: Donovan Mitchell or Cade Cunningham?

NHL

Minnesota Wild @ Colorado Avalanche Game Five at 8:00 p.m. EDT on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max.

The Avalanche have the Wild on the ropes and can punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals with a win this evening. Though Game Four was tied 2-2 about midway through the third period, the Avs scored three unanswered goals for the eventual 5-2 victory. Making a change between the pipes proved to be the right move for Colorado after goalie Mackenzie Blackwood denied 19 of Minnesota's 21 shots for a .905 save percentage. In all likelihood, Blackwood will be in the net again for the Avalanche as they try to close out the series at home.

One question that will be answered: Can Minnesota netminder Jesper Wallstedt hold Colorado to two goals or fewer?
