MLB
New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles at 6:35 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
Believe it or not, the Yankees actually have the longest active losing streak in the Majors right now at four games. After pitcher Ryan Weathers' no-hitter was broken up in the seventh inning of yesterday's contest, Baltimore DH Coby Mayo hit a three-run homer to eventually give the Orioles a 3-2 victory. Though the O’s have not yet named a starting pitcher, New York has already pegged Will Warren as their starter. He'll be hoping for a better performance than his last time out, when he gave up six earned runs.
One question that will be answered: Can Will Warren make it through at least five innings?
Chicago Cubs @ Atlanta Braves at 7:15 p.m. EDT on TBS and MLB.TV.
We get a potential preview of the 2026 NLCS when the Atlanta Braves play host to the Chicago Cubs to open up a three-game series. The 28-13 Braves have the best record in baseball and currently sit in first place in the National League. However, the 27-14 Cubs are only a game back from Atlanta for the lead in the NL, so this series will undoubtedly have an impact on how playoff seeding inevitably works out. Plus, the rest of the NL Central is within five games of Chicago, so those teams will be watching this series with much intrigue. Colin Rea gets the nod for the Cubs, while Grant Holmes will be on the mound for the Braves.
One question that will be answered: Considering Chicago and Atlanta rank sixth and seventh in ERA over the last 15 days (3.17 and 3.33, respectively), will these teams combine for at least seven runs tonight?
San Diego Padres @ Milwaukee Brewers at 7:40 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
There will be another potential postseason preview tonight when the Padres and the streaking Brewers kick off a three-game set in Milwaukee. Coming off their sweep of the New York Yankees, the 22-16 Brewers have the longest active winning streak in baseball at four games. However, the 24-16 Padres have all the motivation they need in this series, with only a half-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the NL West. Brandon Sproat gets the start for Milwaukee, while San Diego looks to Matt Waldron as both pitchers try to get their ERAs under control (5.87 and 7.71, respectively).
One question that will be answered: Will both teams score at least six runs apiece tonight?
St. Louis Cardinals @ Athletics at 9:40 p.m. EDT on ESPN Unlimited and MLB.TV.
Two squads that came into this season with low expectations are both now battling for spots in the 2026 postseason as the Cards take on the Athletics in a three-game series. At 23-17, St. Louis is trying to keep pace with the Milwaukee Brewers for the second wild card spot in the National League. Meanwhile, the Athletics are 21-19 and only have a two-game lead over the Seattle Mariners for first place in the AL West. Andre Pallante makes his second start in the last six days for the Cardinals, as Jeffrey Springs tries to get back on track for the A's after giving up eight hits and two earned runs his last time out.
One question that will be answered: With the third-best ERA in the Majors over the last 15 days (3.02), can the Cardinals hold the Athletics to fewer than three runs?
NHL
Buffalo Sabres @ Montreal Canadiens Game Four at 7:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
The Canadiens' offensive onslaught proved too much for the Sabres to handle in Game Three as Montreal took a 2-1 series lead behind a 6-2 victory. The Habs scored four straight goals after going down 1-0 in the first period. Five different players found the back of the net for Montreal, including center Alex Newhook, who scored two goals, bringing his total in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs to five after he scored just 13 during the regular season. Before the series returns to Buffalo for Game Five, the Sabres need to show some life and even things up tonight. Otherwise, they'll have to go back to western New York, where they'll be at risk of being eliminated from the playoffs in front of their home crowd.
One question that will be answered: Will Alex Lyon be in the net again for the Sabres after giving up nine goals in his last two starts?
Anaheim Ducks @ Vegas Golden Knights Game Five at 9:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
After Vegas took a 2-1 series lead, the Ducks bounced back with a 4-3 victory over the Knights on Sunday. With the game tied 2-2 in the second period, Anaheim winger Alex Killorn scored a power-play goal to put the Ducks ahead 3-2. Later on, in the third period, defenseman Ian Moore found the back of the net for what would turn out to be the game-winning goal. Now, the series returns to Las Vegas for a game before shifting back to Anaheim. Vegas will be hoping for a better result than the last time they were at home, when the Ducks won 3-1.
One question that will be answered: Will three goals be enough for one of these squads to win this game?
NBA
Minnesota Timberwolves @ San Antonio Spurs Game Five at 8:00 p.m. EDT on NBC and Peacock.
This series returns to San Antonio tied 2-2 after the Timberwolves went 1-1 during their two-game homestand. Following the ejection of Spurs superstar center Victor Wembanyama for a Flagrant 2 foul in the second quarter of Game Four, Minnesota was able to down San Antonio 114-109, thanks in part to a 36-point outing by T-wolves guard Anthony Edwards, his most in a single game during the 2026 postseason. Had the Spurs shot better than 23% from beyond the arc, then they probably could've stolen that game. Since Victor Wembanyama was able to avoid a suspension, he’ll be back on the court tonight with an increased sense of motivation. We’ll find out tonight if his presence will be enough to lift San Antonio over Minnesota to take a 3-2 series lead.
One question that will be answered: How many points, rebounds, blocks, and assists will Wembanyama record tonight?
WNBA
Atlanta Dream @ Dallas Wings at 8:00 p.m. EDT on WNBA League Pass.
After they both had impressive outings in their season openers, the new-look Atlanta Dream will hit the road to take on the young and upstart Dallas Wings. Dallas beat the Indiana Fever 107-104 on May 9th in the first season-opening game in WNBA history featuring two teams that each scored at least 100 points. On the other side, the Dream are riding high after rallying from a 19-point deficit to beat the Minnesota Lynx 91-90 on Saturday night. Two of the fastest rising stars in the league will face off tonight when Angel Reese leads the Dream into Arlington, Texas to take on Paige Bueckers and the Wings.
One question that will be answered: Who will play better: Angel Reese or Paige Bueckers?
