Tampa Bay Rays @ Cleveland Guardians at 6:10 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
Last night, the Rays rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Guardians 3-2 and take Game One of this series. Tampa outfielder Ryan Vilade was the hero of the evening, with three hits and two RBIs. Cleveland really needs this win tonight if it wants to stop a three-game slide and avoid falling below .500 for the first time this season. Nick Martinez gets the start for the Rays as he looks to keep building on an impressive start to the campaign, where he is tied for the eighth-best ERA in the Majors (2.10). Meanwhile, Tanner Bibee is on the bump for Cleveland as he tries to earn his first win of the year.
One question that will be answered: Will the Guardians score more or fewer than 1.5 runs against Martinez?
St. Louis Cardinals @ Pittsburgh Pirates at 6:40 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
A crucial NL Central series continues this evening when the 15-13 Cardinals face the 16-13 Pirates. St. Louis came back from down 2-0 and scored four runs in the ninth inning to eventually down Pittsburgh, 4-2. Both of these squads are trying desperately to keep pace with the Cincinnati Reds, who lead the division with an 18-10 record. Kyle Leahy will be on the mound for the Cards, but we don't know yet who will be starting for the Pirates. Regardless of who it is, they'll probably perform well since Pittsburgh has the fourth-best ERA in the MLB (3.36).
One question that will be answered: Can St. Louis record at least four earned runs against the Pirates again?
Detroit Tigers @ Atlanta Braves at 7:15 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV and TBS.
The National League's hottest team, the 20-9 Braves, plays host to the 15-14 AL Central-leading Tigers. Atlanta is seeking its 12th win in its last 15 games. In fact, the Braves have the best winning percentage in baseball over the last two weeks (.833). Meanwhile, the Tigers need this one and this series if they want to maintain control of their division and stay a step ahead of the Guardians, who are just a half-game back from Detroit for first place in the AL Central. The Tigers' Casey Mize will be going against the Braves' Martin Perez in the first matchup of this three-game set.
One question that will be answered: How many hits will Atlanta's Drake Baldwin and Ozzie Albies (second and third in the MLB, respectively) combine for tonight?
New York Yankees @ Texas Rangers at 8:05 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV and Amazon Prime Video.
The Yanks took the first game in this series thanks to Aaron Judge and Ben Rice hitting back-to-back home runs on their way to a 4-2 victory yesterday. In fact, Rice and Judge became the second set of Yankees teammates ever to hit at least ten home runs through the first 29 games of the season. Though the Rangers are below .500 and sit at 14-15, they're only one-and-a-half games back from the Athletics for control of first place in the AL West. Two of the best pitchers in baseball will be starting tonight as Cam Schlittler gets the nod for New York, while Jacob deGrom will be on the mound for Texas.
One question that will be answered: Considering these two guys have only allowed ten earned runs in nine total starts during April, will they give up at least three combined earned runs tonight?
Chicago Cubs @ San Diego Padres at 9:40 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.
Two of the best teams in the Majors continue their series after the Cubs and Padres exploded for 16 runs last night. San Diego third baseman Manny Machado recorded three hits and three runs as the Padres defeated Chicago 9-7. After starting pitchers Matthew Boyd and Randy Vasquez gave up ten earned runs yesterday, these squads will probably be hoping for better performances from their starters tonight. Edward Cabrera will be starting for the Cubs, and Walker Buehler will be the Padres’ starter. In all likelihood, we'll see more fireworks tonight.
One question that will be answered: Will these teams combine for at least ten runs scored this evening?
NBA
Philadelphia 76ers @ Boston Celtics at 7:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
It clearly didn't matter that 76ers superstar Joel Embiid made his 2026 playoff debut on Sunday. The Celtics still managed to kill the Sixers, 128-96, to take a 3-1 series lead. Boston was lights out from beyond the arc, making 24 of its 53 three-point attempts. Philadelphia didn't have an answer for guard Payton Pritchard, who scored 32 points on a day when he made 50% of his three-pointers. Tonight, the C's will be at home with a chance to close this thing out and punch their ticket to the second round of the postseason. If the 76ers want to keep their season alive, they're going to need to get more scoring from their bench after Paul George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey scored two-thirds of the team's points. Somebody else is going to have to step up for Philly.
One question that will be answered: Who will be the player on the 76ers that elevates their game outside of Maxey, George, and Embiid?
Atlanta Hawks @ New York Knicks at 8:00 p.m. EDT on NBC and Peacock.
It's possible that the Knicks were so focused on potentially facing the Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA Playoffs that they didn't actually view the Hawks as a threat, which could end up being New York's downfall. After underestimating Atlanta, the Hawks find themselves tied with the Knickerbockers 2-2 as the series returns to Madison Square Garden. New York evened up the series on Saturday with a 114-98 victory in Atlanta. Karl-Anthony Towns had one of his best-ever playoff performances after he recorded a 20-point triple-double. With just three games left in this series, New York will obviously be rocking tonight.
One question that will be answered: Considering how good he has been so far, will Atlanta's CJ McCollum score at least 25 points this evening?
Portland Trail Blazers @ San Antonio Spurs at 9:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
San Antonio has the chance to win its first playoff series in nine years with a victory tonight. The last time out, Victor Wembanyama looked fantastic in his return from injury, with 27 points, 12 rebounds, four steals, and seven blocks in his first game back after suffering a concussion on April 21st. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the only game the Trail Blazers have won in this series was the one that Victor Wembanyama failed to finish. The Spurs are undefeated in this series when Wembanyama completes a game. With tonight's matchup taking place in San Antonio, the Trail Blazers will certainly have their work cut out for them as they look to keep their season alive.
One question that will be answered: How many combined points, rebounds, assists, and blocks will Victor Wembanyama have tonight?
NHL
Boston Bruins @ Buffalo Sabres at 7:30 p.m. EDT on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max.
After a two-game stint in Boston, this thing returns to Buffalo, where the Sabres have a chance to win their first playoff series since 2011. Buffalo didn't seem bothered by the fact that they were on the road in Game Four because they crushed the Bruins 6-1 on Sunday thanks to a four-goal first period. For as good as the Sabres’ skaters were in that contest, goalie Alex Lyon was also sensational, recording 23 saves on 24 shot attempts for one goal allowed and a save percentage of .958. Tonight, the Sabres look to change the narrative against their longtime rivals with a playoff series win over the B's.
One question that will be answered: Will Boston goalie Jeremy Swayman finish the game as the Bruins' starter, or will he once again be benched?
Minnesota Wild @ Dallas Stars at 8:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN2.
This has been the most exciting series in the first round of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The last two matchups have been decided in overtime, with the Stars and Wild both securing wins to tie this thing at two games apiece. Minnesota winger Matt Boldy was the hero of Game Four after he deflected a pass into the back of the net for a 3-2 overtime win on Saturday. The goaltending in this series has been lights out as the Wild's Jesper Wallstedt and the Stars' Jake Oettinger have combined for a .916 save percentage, with 250 saves on 273 total shot attempts. This thing will still probably be decided in a Game Seven, but tonight's contest will go a long way in determining which squad eventually advances to the next round of the playoffs.
One question that will be answered: Will Oettinger or Wallstedt have a better performance this evening?
Anaheim Ducks @ Edmonton Oilers at 10:00 p.m. EDT on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max.
Everybody seemed to think that the Oilers would easily blow past the Ducks in the first round of the playoffs, but Anaheim has overwhelmed Edmonton thus far and has a chance to eliminate the two-time Western Conference Champions tonight with a victory. Just when it looked like the Oilers would even things up on Sunday, the Ducks tied the game 3-3 with a late goal in the third period. Then, center Ryan Poehling scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give Anaheim a 3-1 series lead. If the Ducks close this thing out tonight, then we’ll have new teams representing the East and West in the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in two years.
One question that will be answered: After being held to zero goals and zero assists in the first two games of this series, can the Oilers' Connor McDavid extend his point streak to three games?
