Thunder complete sweep of Lakers

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be moving on to the Western Conference Finals after completing the sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers with a 115-110 win last night. After OKC took a 111-110 lead with less than 30 seconds to go in the game, LeBron James' driving floater bounced off the rim as LA's last-ditch effort to keep its season alive fell short.

The Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led all players with 35 points, while Ajay Mitchell added another 28 points. Meanwhile, the Lakers' LeBron James, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura combined for 76 of Los Angeles' 110 points.

LeBron James says, "I don't know" regarding potential retirement

Future Hall of Famer LeBron James did not provide a clear idea about what his future holds in the immediate aftermath of the Los Angeles Lakers' second-round sweep at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 23rd-year forward said that he has to "recalibrate" with his family before deciding whether or not he’ll retire.

"I think you guys asked me about it (retirement), and I've answered questions," James told members of the media after last night's game. "I don't think I've come out and been like, 'Oh, retirement is coming.' With my future, I don't know, honestly. It's obviously still fresh from, obviously, losing. And I don't know. I don't know what the future holds for me. As it stands right now - tonight - you know, I got a lot of time."

James, who turns 42 this coming December, ranked 26th in points per game (20.9) and seventh in assists per game (7.2) this season. He is currently scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this Summer.

Cavaliers even series with Pistons behind Donovan Mitchell's historic performance

Cleveland guard Donovan Mitchell tied an NBA single-game playoff record with 39 second-half points as the Cavaliers defeated the Detroit Pistons, 112-103, to tie the series 2-2. Mitchell finished the evening with 43 points, five rebounds, and two assists. On top of that, James Harden added 24 points and 11 assists.

The free-throw disparity was another big reason why Cleveland won, as they took 34 shots at the charity stripe, compared to the Pistons, who only had 12 free-throw attempts. After the loss, Detroit head coach J.B. Bickerstaff described the difference as "unacceptable."

"We didn't do enough, obviously, to help ourselves, and I'll start there. But ever since we came to Cleveland, the whistle has changed," he told reporters during a postgame interview. "There's no way that one guy on their team shoots more free throws than our team. We're not a 'settle' team. We're not a jump shooting team. We drive the ball, attack the paint."

NHL

Avalanche bounce back for 3-1 series lead over Wild

The Colorado Avalanche scored four goals in the third period of last night's game, securing a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild and putting them just one win away from a spot in the 2026 Western Conference Finals. With the game tied 2-2 in the third period, Colorado center Parker Kelly found the back of the Minnesota net off a one-timer for a 3-2 lead. From there, the Avalanche scored a pair of empty net goals. Colorado goalie Mackenzie Blackwood, who was named the starter over Scott Wedgewood, made 19 saves on 21 Wild shot attempts for a .905 save percentage.

MLB

Orioles break up Yankees' no-hitter in comeback win

Not only did the New York Yankees lose a no-hit bid, but they also allowed the Baltimore Orioles to complete the comeback for a 3-2 victory. Yankees pitcher Ryan Weathers' no-hit performance was broken up by an Adley Rutschman single in the bottom of the seventh inning. Three batters later, after Weathers was replaced by Brent Headrick, O’s first baseman Coby Mayo hit a three-run home run that would eventually lift the Orioles over the Yankees. As a result, New York fell to 26-16 on the campaign as their losing streak increased to four games.

Steelers reportedly agree to four-year extension with Kicker Chris Boswell

The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a four-year extension worth $28 million with former All-Pro kicker Chris Boswell, his agency told ESPN's Adam Schefter yesterday. The $7 million annual average value of the extension ties the Dallas Cowboys' Brandon Aubrey for the most lucrative kicker contract in NFL history.
