13:55 Club 26 Heritage Handicap (Class 2) 5f – Ascot
Havana Hurricane is the early favourite for the Club 26 Heritage Handicap at 13:55 this Saturday, but it’s Stuart Williams’ King Of Light that has my eye.
Piloted by Harry Vigors, King Of Light ranks among the top 3 runners in the 5f Class 2 race. The four-year-old won last time out at Windsor over 6f on June 29th, and will be hoping to repeat the performance in the opening race at Ascot.
His recent form is strong, with 2 wins from his last 5 entries and top-5 finishes in all of them. The table below shares the key details:
Date | Distance | Venue | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
29 June 2026 | 6f | Windsor | 1/10 |
6 June 2026 | 5f | Epsom | 5/20 |
1 May 2026 | 5f | Goodwood | 2/11 |
4 Oct 2025 | 5f | Ascot | 4/11 |
27 Sept 2025 | 5f | Haydock | 1/10 |

14:27 Juddmonte Summer Mile Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) 1m – Ascot
Next up, we’re staying at Ascot for the Juddmonte Summer Mile Stakes – and a horse unbeaten in his recent runnings.
Trained by C Ferland, it’s No Lunch that’s caught my eye thanks to an impeccable record over the last 18 months. Amazingly, he seems really underpriced, slotting in as the early fourth-place favourite.
The 5-year-old has won everything entered over the last 5 races, the majority of which were over 1m. The table below highlights just how good No Lunch has been since December 2025.
Date | Distance | Venue | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
1 May 2026 | 1m | Saint-Cloud | 1/7 |
8 Mar 2026 | 1m | Chantilly | 1/8 |
15 Feb 2026 | 1m | Cagnes-Sur-Mer | 1/10 |
24 Jan 2026 | 1m | Cagnes-Sur-Mer | 1/6 |
3 Dec 2025 | 7½f | Deauville | 1/15 |

15.25 The Bunbury Cup (Heritage Handicap) 7f – Newmarket
Over to Newmarket and The Bunbury Cup now, and there’s no clear early favourite in the runnings. No entry has a stunning record – but there’s one with a history in the Bunbury Cup that shouldn’t be ignored.
Ian Williams’ Aalto is my favourite for this one – last year’s runner-up and the winner of the 2024 Bunbury Cup. He’s not in fantastic form; his best finish in the last 5 races was second, but there’s strong potential for the 6-year-old in the Class 2 race.
Date | Distance | Venue | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
25 June 2026 | 7f | Newmarket | 2/9 |
13 June 2026 | 7f | York | 14/19 |
9 May 2026 | 7f | Ascot | 9/28 |
27 Nov 2026 | 1m | Newcastle (AW) | 8/12 |
3 Nov 2025 | 7f | Kempton (AW) | 7/12 |

15.45 The John Smith’s Cup (Heritage Handicap) 1m 2f – York
Next on the list, we’re over to York for the John Smith’s Cup (Heritage Handicap). 22 runners will take to the course, but few are more exciting than William Haggas’ Yabher.
The 4-year-old is the joint favourite in the 1m 2f flat race with an impressive record to back up the promises. Yabher has won three of the last four entries and has quickly proved to be a competitive racehorse. The table below highlights just how good he’s been over the last 12 months.
Date | Distance | Venue | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
2 May 2026 | 1m2f | Goodwood | 1/9 |
10 Oct 2025 | 1m4f | Newmarket | 1/12 |
1 Aug 2025 | 1m3f | Goodwood | 12/13 |
5 Jul 2025 | 1m2f | Sandown | 1/8 |
20 June 2025 | 1m2f | Redcar | 2/8 |

16.35 The Al Basti Equiworld Dubai July Cup (Group One) 6f – Newmarket
The big one for this weekend – The Al Basti Equiworld Dubai July Cup – a 6f Group One race with the enormous first-place prize of £453,680.
Venetian Sun is the one to watch here – a 3-year-old trained by K R Burke that I’m super fond of. The bay filly has been running from strength to strength, most recently competing at Ascot with a mighty performance to win the Commonwealth Cup.
She’s looking good to take first place in The Al Basti Equiworld Dubai July Cup, with just 11 runners currently entered. The table below showcases her recent achievements.
Date | Distance | Venue | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
19 Jun 2026 | 6f | Ascot | 1/22 |
23 May 2026 | 6f | Haydock | 1/7 |
3 May 2026 | 1m | Newmarket | 11/19 |
14 Sep 2025 | 7f | Curragh | 3/7 |
24 Aug 2025 | 6f | Deauville | 1/6 |
