Joliestar looks to have a great chance of following in the footsteps of Australian sprinters Choisir and Black Caviar in the feature race

The curtain comes down at Royal Ascot 2026 on Saturday, with another top quality seven-race card scheduled from the Berkshire venue, including the feature Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes.

The 6f event, which has a prize fund of £1m, has attracted an elite field of 19 runners, including representatives from Australia, Denmark, France and Japan.

Here is everything you need to know for day five, including the day's best bets.

Day 5 - Key info

First race: 14:30 Norfolk Stakes

Feature race: 15:40 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes

It is the last of five fantastic days of action at Royal Ascot, four Group races kicking off the card, prior to some ultra competitive handicaps, including the 28-runner cavalry charge, the Wokingham (17:00) over 6f.

There is a huge amount of international interest in the day’s feature race, not least Aussie sprinter Joliestar, who deservedly heads the market for her legendary trainer, Chris Waller.

The meeting begins with what looks a well up to scratch edition of the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes (14:30), 14 of the 21 runners having won their last starts.

The Group 3 Jersey Stakes (16:20) has been won by some notable names in recent years and Charlie Appleby, who has won the race twice since 2022, relies solely on last month’s Goodwood scorer, Catullus.

Best bet of the day

Joliestar to win the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (15:40) @ 15/8

Australian sprinters Choisir and Black Caviar showed their class when winning this race in 2003 and 2012 respectively and there is a strong chance JOLIESTAR can follow suit.

The five-year-old mare has already won five times at the highest level and comes here in top form following a trio of successes at Randwick earlier this year, the last two coming in Group 1 company.

Her trainer Chris Waller has reportedly been delighted with the mare in her preparation and she is likely going to be tough to beat under James McDonald, the daughter of Zoustar aided by a 3lb sex allowance.

Best each-way bet of the day

Trefor in the Wokingham Handicap (17:00) @ 22/1

There are SIX places to play for with LiveScore Bet in the Wokingham Handicap, which has attracted a maximum field of 28.

William Haggas has had several run well this week and he landed the Kensington Palace Stakes on Wednesday with Alobayyah, whose connections are represented in this 6f dash with market leader Binhareer.

He has got obvious claims following an eye-catching seasonal return, but TREFOR was equally progressive as that rival last season and looks overpriced off bottom weight.

The Charles Hills-trained selection likely needed his seasonal comeback, but shaped with far more promise than his fourth position suggests at Windsor subsequently, having seen little in the way of daylight.

He is only 2lb above the third of last season’s wins and Toby Moore takes off a very handy 7lb.

Day 5 acca

We will have an accumulator for you every day of Royal Ascot and Saturday's selections, including the day’s best bet, form a juicy treble which pays over 76/1 with LiveScore Bet.

Bet 1: Back Joliestar to win the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (15:40) @ 15/8

A five-time winner in Group 1 company in her native Australia, Chris Waller’s filly has been carrying all before her this year, winning her last three starts, the last two at the highest level.

Bet 2: Back Catullus to win the Jersey Stakes (16:20) @ 8/1

Charlie Appleby has won two of the past five runnings of this Group 3 event and he looks to hold strong claims once again with Catullus, who made short work of the progressive Startled on his seasonal return at Goodwood last month. It seems the gelding and wind operations have made a real difference to him and he looks overpriced.

Bet 3: Back Le Destrier to win the Queen Alexandra Stakes (18:10) @ 2/1

Willie Mullins was out of luck with The King and Queen’s Reaching High earlier this week, but there’s every reason to think he’ll bounce back in the concluding race of this year’s festival with Le Destrier. Mullins won this race in 2021, 2022 and last year. Formerly trained in Poland, he made a highly satisfactory start for this yard when third behind Scandinavia in a Group 3 at Leopardstown last month. He was entered in the Group 1 Ascot Gold Cup, but connections have opted for this easier race.
