The 32-year-old became the first-ever free agent to play for England during this summer’s tournament, following the expiry of his Manchester City contract at the end of June.

Bayern Munich were rumoured to be interested in the free agent prior to the World Cup – and his displays for the Three Lions certainly won’t have dissuaded them.
