Bulgaria vs Luxembourg (Nations League) – 5:00 pm
This Bulgarian outfit is notoriously poor in front of goal. They scored just three times in their six 2026 World Cup qualification fixtures and just three times in six matches again in the last edition of the Nations League (2024/25).
For Luxembourg, the story has been similar. They were the second-lowest-scoring side in the UEFA region during their World Cup qualification campaign, netting just once in six games combined, and like Bulgaria, they managed to notch only three goals in six matches in the last Nations League.
In addition, Bulgaria and Luxembourg have met three times since 2022, with two of those encounters ending 0-0 and the Bulgarians squeezing a 1-0 win out of the other. Don’t expect fireworks in Plovdiv.

Czech Republic vs Croatia (Nations League) – 7:45 pm
Croatia have been priced at evens to win their Nations League opener in Prague against the Czech Republic, which looks like excellent value in the circumstances. Czechia have undergone a major period of upheaval following their poor World Cup performances and look considerably weaker for it.
They have an unproven new coach in Santi Denia, while seven players, including Patrik Schick, Vladimir Darida, Tomas Holes, Jaroslav Zeleny, and Vaclav Cerny, all retired after the World Cup. To compound their issues, key attacking midfielder Tomas Soucek is also one of several injured absentees. Croatia have an opportunity to pounce here.

England vs Spain (Nations League) – 7:45 pm
England will find it tough to beat World Cup winners Spain, though Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions carry enough threat in the final third to score against La Roja. England have a habit of going through the motions in friendlies, however, they have scored at least once in 25 of their last 26 competitive fixtures.
Spain meanwhile, haven’t lost a competitive fixture in 90 minutes since March 2024 and Luis de la Fuente’s side have rattled the net at least once in 22 of their last 23 competitive matches. Both sides are proven, consistent goal scorers and we expect BTTS to land at Wembley when they collide.

North Macedonia vs Switzerland (Nations League) – 7:45 pm
Though they are still 69th in FIFA’s official rankings, North Macedonia are no longer the pushovers or “gimmes” that they once were, particularly when they play in Skopje. Indeed, they’ve lost only one of their last 15 matches on home soil, avoiding defeat against the likes of Belgium, England and Italy along the way.
Remarkably, they conceded one or fewer goals in all but one of those 15 fixtures in a run stretching back to March 2023, and that strong defensive record could open up an opportunity to back North Macedonia with a +2.0-goal head start against Switzerland.

Slovenia vs Scotland (Nations League) – 7:45 pm
Scotland begin their latest Nations League adventure with a tricky-looking curtain raiser in Ljubljana. New head coach Sébastien Pocognoli leads the Scots into battle for the first time against Slovenia, armed with a squad that includes eight uncapped players, while talisman Scott McTominay is a notable absentee.
This will also be Slovenian boss Boštjan Cesar’s first competitive fixture at the helm, though he did take charge for four summer friendlies and oversaw some very promising performances in narrow losses to Croatia (2-1) and Hungary (1-0) in two of those. Slovenia have also lost only twice in 21 outings at home, with the likes of Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Serbia, Denmark and Portugal all failing to win there. Don’t be surprised if Scotland find the going tough on Saturday.
