Birmingham vs Middlesbrough (Championship) – 3:00 pm

Birmingham drew a blank on the opening weekend of the new Championship campaign, but have scored at least once in all six second-tier fixtures since, while BTTS also landed in all six of the same games. The Blues’ 2-1 win at Derby last week was a mood lifter and should give them the impetus to attack when they host Middlesbrough.

In-form Boro are in third spot having lost just once in seven Championship contests, though clean sheets are proving hard to come by and both teams have registered in all but one of their seven league matches since the summer. BTTS bettors were also rewarded in both of Birmingham and Boro’s meetings in the division last season.

Recommended bet: Both Teams to Score

Paris FC vs Strasbourg (Ligue 1) – 4:15 pm

Liam Rosenior leads his unbeaten Paris FC side into battle against his former employers Strasbourg on Saturday afternoon in Ligue 1, on an occasion that the 45-year-old should relish. The Parisians were held to a 0-0 draw by Lyon last week, but scored three times in back-to-back matches against Marseille (3-2) and Nice (3-0) before that.

Strasbourg notched nine times across their last three league games, so will arrive in the capital ready to match their hosts blow for blow. In last season’s corresponding fixture between the teams, Strasbourg emerged with the point after a five-goal thriller (3-2). Something similar could unfold on Saturday.

Recommended bet: Both Teams to Score

Nottingham Forest vs Coventry City (Premier League) – 5:30 pm

Nottingham Forest have played themselves into some form and they earned a richly deserved 2-1 win at Aston Villa last weekend, having racked up 22 shots, created six big chances and 2.28 in expected goals at Villa Park.

Oliver Glasner’s side have a chance to build on their momentum at home to Coventry on Saturday. The struggling visitors have lost four assignments out of four to nil since their promotion, shipping ten goals in the process, and they conceded another three against Aston Villa when exiting the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Recommended bet: Nottingham Forest to Win

VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) – 5:30 pm

Stuttgart’s defensive work has been below standard so far this season and they conceded five big chances in last weekend’s 2-1 reverse to Hoffenheim. That was their second defeat already after just three rounds of matches in the Bundesliga, and only two teams in the division have been conceding more shots per 90 minutes (19.70).

In contrast, Dortmund are purring already. They’ve pocketed maximum points in the Bundesliga and have won five games in succession in all competitions, scoring 3+ times in the last four of those. Despite all of that, Dortmund are underdogs in the markets ahead of their trip to Stuttgart on Saturday evening, which means they offer buckets of value in the double chance stakes.

Recommended bet: Borussia Dortmund Double Chance

Ajax vs Excelsior (Eredivisie) – 7:00 pm

Slump against De Topper PSV (1-3) rivals aside, Ajax have been full of goals over the past few weeks, recording big wins over Willem II (5-1), Fortuna Sittard (5-1), Telstar (4-0), Sion (5-3, 4-2) since mid-August. They mustered 33 shots, 12 attempts on target and an xG of 3.36 in their latest win over Willem II, and they seem to be able to create chances at will against domestic opponents.

Excelsior have been earning 1.66 points-per-game in the Eredivisie so far, but conceded twice in three of their last five games, and though they only lost 2-1 at home to PSV last month, they did a whopping 20 shots and four big chances in that defeat. A free-scoring Ajax can pick plenty of holes in that unconvincing backline.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 Ajax Goals
