Borussia Dortmund vs Paderborn (Bundesliga) – 2:30 pm

Newly-promoted Paderborn have looked toothless in the early exchanges of the fresh Bundesliga campaign. They lost 1-0 to Freiburg on the opening weekend and failed to create a single big chance, and they drew a blank again on matchday two in a drab 0-0 tie with Mainz.

Paderborn didn’t register a single shot on target in that stalemate against the Nullfünfer and they could toil again in the final third when they travel to take on a much stronger Dortmund outfit at Signal Iduna Park.

Recommended bet: Borussia Dortmund to Win to Nil

Liverpool vs Fulham (Premier League) – 3:00 pm

Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeola returns to his old club when the Cottagers visit Anfield on Saturday in what has the makings of a goal-fest on Merseyside.

Fulham have played some eye-catching attacking football under the Spaniard, but they’ve been far too easy to cut through out of possession. They racked up a massive 25 attempts and manufactured 3.14 in expected goals against Crystal Palace last weekend, but still lost 3-2, highlighting the imbalance in their performances.

Liverpool’s style under Andoni Iraola is similar in many ways, if less extreme, and their matches under their new Spanish taskmaster have been averaging 3.25 goals since the summer. Fulham can unsettle an unconvincing Reds defence, but Liverpool have the firepower to eventually outgun them.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 Goals

Southampton vs Burnley (Championship) – 3:00 pm

Southampton enjoyed a 3-1 win over Swansea on Tuesday, though their wait for a first clean sheet of the campaign goes on. Indeed, BTTS has landed in each of the Saints’ first six league matches of the new season, and if you include their Carabao Cup clash with West Ham in August, their BTTS streak extends to seven straight games.

The story has been similar for Bristol City, with both teams notching in each of their last four matches, while BTTS bettors were also rewarded in each of the Robins’ first three Championship tests of the season on the road.

Recommended bet: Both Teams to Score

Lazio vs AC Milan (Serie A) – 5:00 pm

Lazio have been short on goals in the opening weeks of the new domestic season in Italy. They failed to score completely in their surprise Coppa Italia loss to Mantova (0-2) and managed to register only once in low-key wins over Bologna (1-0) and Genoa (1-0) after that in Serie A.

They improved to topple Udinese 2-1 when last seen, though their goals came from their only two big chances in the game. Milan had similar issues against Juventus last weekend, in what was their first significant test under new boss, Ruben Amorim.

Milan forced a 1-1 draw, but had only one shot on target and an xG of just 0.11 in Turin. The Rossoneri are likely to be just as cautious when they visit goal-shy Lazio and a low-scoring contest could develop as a result.

Recommended bet: Under 2.5 Goals

Athletic Bilbao vs Elche (La Liga) – 5:30 pm

Athletic Bilbao have found some form and enjoyed successive wins over Celta Vigo (2-0) and Atletico Madrid (3-0) in their last two La Liga assignments. That convincing triumph over Diego Simeone’s Atletico a week ago at the San Mamés was particularly impressive and Head Coach Edin Terzić will be targeting something similar on Saturday.

Visiting Elche have lost three league fixtures on the spin, conceding at least three times on each occasion and 11 goals in total. They look fragile and are unlucky enough to be meeting an Athletic side on the up. A home win is the angle to pursue in this one.

Recommended bet: Athletic Bilbao to Win
