Brighton vs Leeds (Premier League) – 3:00 pm

Brighton have been full of goals in the campaign’s opening exchanges, putting four goals past Aston Villa (EPL) and Tromso (Conference League) in successive fixtures before netting another three times in a narrow loss to Chelsea (3-4).

Albion, who failed to score only four times in 19 Premier League home assignments last season, can net again against Leeds, though keeping a clean sheet could prove difficult against Daniel Farke’s side. The visitors have scored in 13 games in a row stretching back to the end of last season, including summer friendlies, and Leeds have the tools to trade blows with Brighton.

Recommended bet: Both Teams to Score

Brentford vs Sunderland (Premier League) – 3:00 pm

Having demolished Tottenham (3-0) on the opening weekend of the Premier League and hammered Birmingham (6-1) in the Carabao Cup, Brentford didn’t quite ignite at Leeds (1-1) last time out, though they did manufacture 22 shots at Elland Road.

Still, Brentford have looked better prepared than most for the start of the new season and only Man Utd (54) have had more attempts at goal than the Bees (48) overall so far. Sunderland could be next in the firing line. The Black Cats were beaten 3-0 on their last visit to the Gtech Community Stadium and that was their joint-second heaviest defeat of the campaign.

Recommended bet: Over 1.5 Brentford Goals

Schalke vs Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) – 5:30 pm

Promoted Schalke returned to the Bundesliga with a whimper last weekend and conceded nine big chances and 3.72 in expected goals against in a 3-0 opening-day loss at Augsburg.

To compound their misery, they also lost key defensive midfielder Ron Schallenberg to a second-half red card, ruling him out of Saturday’s daunting date with champions Bayern Munich.

Vincent Kompany’s side blitzed Stuttgart 5-1 to open their title defence and Die Roten are strong enough to put something similar together against a weak-looking Schalke.

Recommended bet: Bayern Munich -1.0 Handicap

Ajax vs PSV (Eredivisie) – 7:00 pm

The first De Topper fixture of the new Eredivisie season between challengers Ajax and champions PSV takes place on Saturday evening in Amsterdam, where the goals are expected to flow.

Ajax have been playing some slick football under new Spanish head coach Michel, netting 13 goals in their last three matches alone, while PSV scored 11 times in their last two league fixtures combined. Both meetings between the clubs last term finished 2-2, so the goal markets look ripe for plundering again.

The trick is finding value, with the over 2.5 line priced as short as 2/7. Better prices are on offer in the over 1.5 first half goals market at just short of evens. A bet in that direction would have landed in each of last season’s Eredivisie encounters between these traditional antagonists.

Recommended bet: Over 1.5 First Half Goals

Villarreal vs Deportivo A Coruna (La Liga) – 8:00 pm

Ambitious Deportivo embarked on an aggressive recruitment drive over the summer to sharpen their competitive edge after their promotion, and their three-game unbeaten start to the campaign suggests good business was done.

Recent recruit Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in all three matches, with BTTS landing on each occasion in draws with Elche (1-1) and Malaga (1-1) preceding a fine 3-1 win over Valencia.

Villarreal meanwhile, have yet to keep a clean sheet and they drew their first two league matches 2-2, versus Atletico Madrid and another promoted side, Racing Santander, before losing to Alaves (0-1).
