League One actions returns with another 8 fixtures on Saturday, February 14th
  • Second meets third at the LNR Stadium on Saturday when Lincoln take on Bolton Wanderers.

  • Leaders Cardiff face a tricky test of their title credentials when they meet Luton in the Welsh capital.

  • Playoff-chasing duo Bradford and Peterborough collide in what could be a pivotal moment in the race for a top-six finish.

The League One slate is affected by the Fourth Round of the FA Cup on Saturday, meaning there are just eight matches on the docket, starting with the lunchtime meeting between Reading and Wycombe.

Elsewhere, Lincoln and Bolton collide in a fixture that could have a major impact on the automatic promotion race near the division’s summit, while Reading and Wycombe could swap positions in midtable, depending on the result of their encounter at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

As per the usual routine, we’ve got League One predictions and tips for all of Saturday’s matches from the division.

Reading vs Wycombe (Saturday, 12:30pm)

Reading (10th) could leapfrog Wycombe (9th) in the League One standings in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off, but toppling Wanderers won’t be easy. The visitors shone in a 4-0 demolition job on Doncaster last weekend and have lost only one of their last eight matches in the division overall. Reading drew 2-2 in each of their last two home games and something similar could unfold here.

Score prediction: Reading 2-2 Wycombe

Stevenage vs Huddersfield (Saturday, 12:30pm)

Reeling from back-to-back 3-1 defeats on the road to Barnsley and Northampton, Stevenage return to home soil on Saturday for what looks like another tricky test against Huddersfield. Visiting Town have claimed ten points from the last 12 on offer and they could repeat August’s 1-0 win over Borough in the teams’ reverse fixture.

Score prediction: Stevenage 0-1 Huddersfield

Barnsley vs AFC Wimbledon (Saturday, 3pm)

Wimbledon are still in mid-table, however, they remain one of League One’s best-performing away teams and only four clubs in the division have pocketed more points on their travels since August. Barnsley meanwhile, have dropped points in three of their last five games at Oakwell and they could drop more in this one.

Score prediction: Barnsley 1-1 AFC Wimbledon

Blackpool vs Plymouth (Saturday, 3pm)

Blackpool threw away a two-goal first-half lead when drawing at Huddersfield (2-2) last weekend, and they’ve now managed to win just once in their last eight attempts in league and cup. With the Tangerines lacking juice, Plymouth could profit. Argyle have won six of their last eight away contests in all competitions and they could counter-punch their way to success again on the coast.

Score prediction: Blackpool 1-2 Plymouth

Bradford vs Peterborough (Saturday, 3pm)

Two of the division’s playoff chasers meet at University of Bradford Stadium on Saturday, though the momentum seems to be with visiting Posh. Peterborough smashed and grabbed their way to a 2-1 win at in-form Mansfield in midweek to reaffirm their tag as away-day specialists. In contrast, Bradford have been off the boil, losing four of their last five games, and they could wilt again here.

Score prediction: Bradford 1-2 Peterborough

Cardiff vs Luton (Saturday, 3pm)

In perhaps the pick of Saturday’s fixtures, table-topping Cardiff host a Luton side that has been finding its flow. The Bluebirds have won 12 of their 15 home games in the league this term however, losing only twice in total and their knack for getting the job done in Wales could get them over the line again. City beat Luton 1-0 in August and they are backed to complete the double over the Hatters this weekend.

Score prediction: Cardiff 1-0 Luton

Exeter vs Northampton (Saturday, 3pm)

A Man-of-the-Match display from keeper Joe Whitworth allowed Exeter to hold Mansfield (0-0) last weekend, giving City something to build on against Northampton. The visiting Cobblers have gone seven away games in League One without tasting victory, losing five times along the way. Exeter have won four of their last five skirmish at home in the third tier and another positive outing in Devon could be in the works here.

Score prediction: Exeter 1-0 Northampton

Lincoln vs Bolton (Saturday, 3pm)

Second meets third when Lincoln take on Bolton, though the Imps’ superior firepower could eventually split the sides at LNER Stadium. Lincoln have notched 52 goals to Wanderers’ 41 this season, and City hit ten of those in their last three home games. Free-scoring Lincoln can outgun their promotion rivals on Saturday.

Score prediction: Lincoln 3-2 Bolton
