Fleetwood are targeting a third win in a row when they host Gillingham.
Crawley will be without two suspended regulars when they travel to take on Rochdale.
Newly-promoted York are aiming to make it two wins from two when they take on Rotherham.
The new 2026/27 EFL League Two season started with a bang last weekend, with ten teams enjoying opening-day victories, ten suffering defeats and only two of the campaign’s first 12 matches ending all square.
With little time to draw breath, England’s fourth tier returns with another 12-game fixture flurry on Saturday, August 22.
The day’s slate begins with three lunchtime kick-offs before advancing into a nine-match programme at 3 pm, and we’ve got free football tips for each contest. Remember to browse the latest League Two odds on LiveScoreBet for the best prices.

Bristol Rovers vs Newport County (Saturday, 12:30 pm)
Rovers boss Steve Evans picked out “individual errors” as the reason for his team’s opening day 3-2 loss at York City, though the Pirates were second-best throughout and saw just 29% of the ball against the newly-promoted outfit.
Newport meanwhile, enjoyed a dream start under new boss Hayden Mullins, with summer signings Kyle Cameron and Shaquille Gwengwe scoring in a 3-0 triumph over Rochdale. Enthused by that showing, Newport can approach their first away game with confidence and they could push for a share of the spoils at The Mem.
Score prediction: Bristol Rovers 2-2 Newport County

Salford City vs Chesterfield (Saturday, 12:30 pm)
It was the clichéd baptism of fire for new Salford boss Peter Cklamovski last weekend, who watched as his charges were torn to shreds by a rampant Barnet (3-1). It might take the Australian manager time to get to grips with English football, so don’t be surprised if the Ammies slip up again here.
Chesterfield were also beaten on the opening day by their Carabao Cup conquerors Fleetwood (0-1), though Paul Cook’s playoff hopefuls beat Salford twice last term without conceding, and they could frustrate City again in this one.
Score prediction: Salford City 0-1 Chesterfield

Walsall vs Grimsby Town (Saturday, 12:30 pm)
Walsall’s 3-0 triumph at Gillingham last weekend was an eye-catcher and put them top of the table, though their keeper Jed Ward kept them in the game at times before the Saddlers plundered three late goals (81, 89, 95) to claim the points.
A follow-up test against Grimsby could be stiffer. The Mariners squeezed past relegated Exeter (1-0), though they had more shots (21) on the opening weekend than any other League Two outfit, and they look creative enough to threaten Walsall. Grimsby took four points off the Saddlers last term and they could leave the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium with a point.
Score prediction: Walsall 1-1 Grimsby Town

Colchester United vs Oldham Athletic (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Goals from Ellis Iandolo and Rob Hunt allowed Colchester to start the League Two campaign with a solid 2-2 draw at Accrington, though it should be tougher to breach this mean Oldham defence.
Latics keeper Matt Hudson kept a club-record 19 clean sheets last term and he started the new season with another shut out in Oldham’s 2-0 win over Port Vale a week ago. Micky Mellon’s Athletic won 3-1 at the JobServe Community Stadium as recently as April, and they are capable of delivering something similar here.
Score prediction: Colchester United 1-2 Oldham Athletic

Crewe Alexandra vs Northampton Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
They left it late, though Crewe eventually found a way past nine-man Crawley last weekend, netting the game’s deciding goal through Josh March in the 95th minute. Buoyed by that dramatic victory, Crewe should be decently equipped to harness home advantage against Northampton.
Relegated last term, Northampton opened their account in League Two in an uninspiring 0-0 draw with Swindon. The Cobblers have now failed to score in two games in a row under new hire Chris Hogg and with goals proving hard to come by, Town might suffer again at the Mornflake Stadium.
Score prediction: Crewe Alexandra 1-0 Northampton Town

Exeter City vs Accrington Stanley (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Exeter’s transfer activity in terms of incomings was hampered by finances in the summer and their resulting squad issues were laid bare last weekend in their 1-0 loss at Grimsby. The Grecians conceded more shots (21) than any other League Two side on the opening day, and that limp showing suggests they could be worth opposing again here.
A brace from Charlie Caton earned Accrington Stanley a draw at home to Colchester (2-2) last week, though the Accies did outgun their visitors for shots (19-7), and might have won with more luck. With Exeter already looking wobbly however, Accrington have a chance to go one better, so don’t be surprised if they upset the odds in this one.

Fleetwood Town vs Gillingham (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Fleetwood should have a kick in their step following successive 1-0 wins in the Carabao Cup and League Two over a fancied Chesterfield side, and they could maintain their positive early burst at Gillingham’s expense on Saturday.
The Gills conceded three against Luton in the cup and another three against Walsall on their return to league action, so confidence in their ranks is likely to be brittle. Fleetwood’s unorthodox 3-1-4-2 formation under Matt Lawlor caused problems for Chesterfield (twice) and the same set-up could provide the blueprint for another win this weekend.
Score prediction: Fleetwood Town 1-0 Gillingham

Port Vale vs Tranmere Rovers (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
A new-look Port Vale XI showed glimpses of quality but eventually slipped to defeat at Oldham (0-2) last week, though there were enough positive signs in their performance to suggest they could bounce back against Tranmere.
Rovers enjoyed an ideal start under new boss Darrell Clarke in a 2-0 victory over Shrewsbury at Prenton Park, however, despite claiming the points, Tranmere did look vulnerable at the back and needed big saves and clearances off the line from defenders to prevail. Port Vale might be better equipped to profit from the same defensive weaknesses.
Score prediction: Port Vale 2-0 Tranmere Rovers

Rochdale vs Crawley Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Promoted Rochdale’s first game back in the Football League could hardly have gone worse. Their 3-0 loss to Newport County was compounded by a red card for fullback Bryant Bilongo, though they were already a couple of goals down before losing the 24-year-old in the second half.
Crawley meanwhile, had two players dismissed in their 1-0 reverse to Crewe, and with Kellan Gordon and Malcolm Ebiowei suspended, their first-choice pairing down the right flank will be missing on Saturday. Rochdale lost only three times in 23 National League games at the Crown Oil Stadium last term and that ground should be buzzing this weekend when it hosts League Two football for the first time this term. Back Rochdale to rebound.
Score prediction: Rochdale 1-0 Crawley Town

Rotherham United vs York City (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Alex Bruce’s Rotherham were a little unlucky to leave Cheltenham (1-2) with nothing last weekend, having lodged 19 shots to their hosts’ six, but back at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, the Millers will expect to put their first points on the board.
Promoted York put down an early marker with a deserved 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers. City controlled 70% of the possession in that victory and their ability to keep the ball should make them a threat in South Yorkshire. A score draw could be the outcome to back here.
Score prediction: Rotherham United 2-2 York City

Shrewsbury Town vs Barnet (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Try as they might, Shrewsbury couldn’t put the finishing touches to some excellent openings at Tranmere last weekend and were eventually punished in a 2-0 loss at Prenton Park. The Shrews will be eager to improve in the final third on Saturday, though it could be dangerous to push too far forward against a Barnet side armed with plenty of counter-attacking threat.
The Bees produced what was arguably the best performance on the opening day of the new League Two campaign when they ran roughshod over Salford (3-1), with Gallagher, Ofoborh, Lakin, Kanu, Tshimanga and Knowles all excelling. Buoyed by that showing, Barnet can push on again.
Score prediction: Shrewsbury Town 1-2 Barnet
Back Barnet to beat Shrewsbury Town at 4/5 with LiveScoreBet
Swindon Town vs Cheltenham Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Swindon’s 0-0 draw at Northampton last weekend didn’t set pulses racing, though the point earned at a recently-relegated opponent represented a solid start for Town. Now, the Robins have an opportunity to spread their wings a little more against a Cheltenham side that conceded 19 shots in their surprise win against Rotherham.
Cheltenham didn’t travel well last term, in fact, they conceded more away goals than anyone else (46), while only three clubs collected fewer points (21) on the road. That knack for slipping up on their travels, coupled with the defensive vulnerabilities that were on show against the Millers, means bettors are advised to oppose Town in this one.
