Sunderland want £9m for Anthony Patterson, a fee deterring Championship interest. Wrexham have turned to Ipswich's Alex Palmer, while Patterson's future at the Stadium of Light remains unclear.

Preston are keen to re-sign Sunderland's Alan Browne after his Middlesbrough loan, with Blackburn also interested. The 31-year-old has fallen out of favour and could leave permanently.

Sunderland cruised to a 2-0 win at Lens. Hume and Isidor scored, Rigg impressed off the bench, and Meunier made a solid debut. Hume was named man of the match.

Leo Hjelde looks set to leave Sunderland, with a sale agreed and a sell-on clause included, ending a spell that brought no Premier League appearance.

Ipswich have lodged a £14m bid for Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor, outbidding Hull. West Ham could offer more, while Sunderland may keep him given their Premier League and European commitments.
