Harry Kane can’t stop making history, and there’s potentially more for him in this international break.
The England captain, who recently became the fastest Bayern Munich player to 150 goals for the club, has racked up 121 caps since making his full international debut in 2015 – scoring a record 85 goals.
And if he features in all four of the Three Lions’ upcoming Nations League games, he’ll become their joint most-capped player ever.
Who has the most England caps?
Harry Kane has just one more player to catch to become the most-capped England men’s international of all time: Peter Shilton.
The legendary goalkeeper, who made a record 1,005 appearances in the top four tiers of English football, represented the Three Lions on 125 occasions.
Shilton made his international debut back in 1970 – just four years after England had won the World Cup – and earned his final cap in the third place play-off at the 1990 World Cup.

Kane is already the most-capped England outfield player, surpassing David Beckham (114 caps) and Wayne Rooney (115) as he captained his country to the semi-finals of this summer’s World Cup.
Only six other players have reached a century of England appearances, all of them outfield players: Billy Wright (105), Frank Lampard, Bobby Charlton (both 106), Ashley Cole (107), 1966 World Cup-winning captain Bobby Moore (108) and Steven Gerrard (114).

Which other England players are close to 100 caps?
Of the players in the latest England squad, Jordan Pickford is the only one within 10 caps of 100.
The Three Lions’ long-time first-choice goalkeeper has played 91 times for his country to date, with a record 19 of those coming in World Cups.
John Stones and Jordan Henderson missed out on selection this time around, but they can also see a century of caps on the horizon, sitting on 94 and 91 respectively.
Where does Kane rank among the most-capped international players overall?
Given he’s now 33 (he’s admitted he might not play for England at the next World Cup 2030), Kane won’t get anywhere near the very top of the all-time list for international caps – which Cristiano Ronaldo currently tops with a whopping 233 and counting.
But he could still climb much higher, and the 150-cap mark doesn’t feel like an unrealistic possibility if he keeps playing until at least the next Euros in 2028.
To date, 51 players have been capped 150 times or more by their country, with four of them (all retired) with having that number to their name: Michael Bradley (USA), Claudio Bravo (Chile), Lothar Matthaus (Germany) and Javad Nekounam (Iran).
A number of players are in line to hit 150 caps during this international break, with South Korea skipper and Kane’s former Tottenham teammate Son Heung-min just one away.
