Liam Rosenior is facing a battle to save his Chelsea job, according to talkSPORT.
The Blues boss could only watch on helplessly as the west London side crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Brighton on Tuesday night.
The midweek reverse at the AMEX marked Chelsea’s fifth successive league defeat without scoring, their worst run since 1912.
Rosenior on the cusp of Chelsea exit
Rosenior has had the backing of the Chelsea hierarchy up until this point but they are now considering pulling the trigger on the Englishman’s time in the capital.
The 41-year-old only took over the Chelsea reins back in January following Enzo Maresca’s exit.
However, the poor run of form and likelihood of missing out on Champions League football means the club are considering another managerial change for the final weeks of the season.
Blues boss tears into 'unacceptable' display
Rosenior has previously defended his players despite a downturn in form, but was left reeling with the Chelsea performance as the former Strasbourg and Hull head coach faced angry chants from the travelling support on Tuesday night.
“It was unacceptable in every aspect of the game, unacceptable in our attitude,” the Chelsea boss said after the loss.
“I keep coming out and defending the players - that's indefensible, that performance tonight.
“The manner of the goals we conceded, the amount of duels that we lost, the lack of intensity in the team. Something needs to change drastically right now.
“I think the players need to have a look in the mirror for what they put in. You can talk about tactics... tactics come after the basics.
“Having more courage to play, winning duels, winning headers, tackles, conceding terrible goals. That was an unacceptable performance tonight.”
Focus now on FA Cup
The result leaves Chelsea in seventh in the Premier League, and seven points off the Champions League spots with four games to play.
Attention now turns to the FA Cup as the Blues gear up for their semi-final meeting with Leeds at the weekend.
