Southampton boss Tonda Eckert said he texted Marco Rose, “welcome to the south coast”, after Rose was appointed Bournemouth manager ahead of next season, praising his pedigree from RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach and noting Andoni Iraola’s work at the club.
Tyler Adams said Bournemouth capitalised on tension at the Emirates, with Arsenal’s little errors making the crowd nervy and momentum swinging, which helped Bournemouth secure an away win in North London.
Iraola started David Brooks ahead of 19-year-old Rayan against Leeds to handle Jóhann Gudmundsson’s wing-back threat, then introduced Rayan after the hour to exploit a more open second half. Rayan scored Bournemouth’s second to make it 2-1 before a stoppage-time equaliser earned Leeds a 2-2 draw.
