Suso has announced his retirement from football at the age of 32, and given the years he spent at AC Milan, many fans will remember his brilliance.

After spending a season with Cadiz (where his career began) in the Spanish second division, Suso has made the decision to retire from football. It raises a few eyebrows as he’s still just 32 years old, but having said that, he clearly fell behind on the physical front towards the end.

He won’t leave football entirely, though, as he will take on a role as an ‘Institutional Representative’ for the Spanish club moving forward.

Suso’s journey with Milan

In the winter mercato of the 2014-15 season, Milan reached an agreement worth €1.3m for the transfer of Suso. He spent the first year with the Rossoneri, but due to a lack of playing time, he was sent to Genoa on loan. There, he impressed with six goals in six months.

For the 2026-17 season, Milan and Vincenzo Montella decided to keep him in the squad and that was something they didn’t regret. With goals against the likes of Napoli and Lazio, as well as a brace against Inter, he played a crucial part for the team (seven goals and eleven assists).

The following season was even better with eight goals and 12 assists. It turned out to be his last season too, joining Sevilla in the summer after, but at least we got to see a cracking goal from him before he left.

Below, you can see what I think is his best goal with the Rossoneri, finding the back of the net against Udinese with a long-distance effort. The derby brace was also good, don’t get me wrong, but this one is just stunning.
