Watch: Moreira rescues Milan after major first-half struggles – the highlights
Diego Moreira bagged his first goals for AC Milan in the game against Lazio, helping his side clinch one point in a complicated game.
After the wins against Torino and Venezia, followed by the draw against Juventus, Milan were hoping to get back to winning ways on Saturday evening. Lazio, on the other hand, had other ideas as they wanted to win their first four games for the first time in the club’s history.
In the end, neither side left the game as a winner, sharing the points after two halves that were wildly different. Lazio scored twice in the first half after dominating most of the play, while Milan picked themselves up in the second and quickly made it 2-2 thanks to Moreira’s brace.
As you can see in the highlights above, Milan even had chances to win the game, which is something that Gattuso said in his post-match interview too. However, it’s hard to say anything other than that a draw was a fair result.
Eight points after four games is by no means terrible for the Rossoneri, but it also means that they need to win their next league game (Lecce). Before then, they will be up against Benfica in the Europa League, and something tells us the starting eleven will include the substitutes from last night.
