Watch: Milan loanee Christopher Nkunku scores first goal for RB Leipzig
AC Milan loanee Christopher Nkunku bagged his first goal for RB Leipzig earlier today, less than 24 hours after Santiago Gimenez got his first goal for Porto.
It’s been a good weekend for Milan’s loanees. Zachary Athekame played another 90 minutes as Lyon extended their unbeaten run, Youssouf Fofana was praised after Sevilla’s win against Valencia, and Gimenez got off the mark for Porto from the spot.
It doesn’t end there, though, as Nkunku also scored his first goal for Leipzig earlier today. He one-upped himself after getting an assist in his first appearance (this was his third), finding the back of the net with a nice finish.
His buy-out clause is believed to be worth around €28m, so Milan are obviously keeping a close eye on his performances with the German side. The same goes for Gimenez as the Rossoneri could bank a decent amount of cash next summer, if all goes well.
Of course, as is always the case when players are out on loan, some have questioned why Milan didn’t keep Nkunku in the squad. Francesco Camarda is the only striker deputy for Goncalo Ramos and while it’s still early, the output from them so far has been one goal out of the seven scored.
