Fikayo Tomori has been reintroduced to the AC Milan squad after he didn’t leave this summer, and he could feature this weekend.

Tomori’s mercato history with Milan has been interesting. For the past four windows now, the Englishman has been linked with a move away from San Siro. However, he’s rejected each of the opportunities to move away from the club.

It’s a difficult one, because there have been no talks to renew his deal. So, he’s likely to leave as a free agent next summer. Yet, reports suggested that he’d be more willing to sit on the bench than leave the Rossoneri.

On deadline day, though, he was ‘rescued’ by Gerry Cardinale, who opted against signing another defender. Now, as Tuttosport writes, the Englishman has returned to training with the group after previously being placed in the ‘bomb squad’, as MilanNews relayed.

With Matteo Gabbia’s injury issues, the defender is expected to be named in the squad for the game against Juventus. It’s defensive cover, but after taking the stance that the excluded players won’t be reintroduced, it’s a bit questionable.

Whether contract talks will be looked at after this debacle is probably a conversation for another day. However, it’s another mercato of confusion where Tomori’s been involved.
