AC Milan are reportedly monitoring the performances of the midfielder Yasin Ayari, who has been shining for club and country lately.

It feels like the summer transfer window only just ended, but January is fast approaching and the transfer rumours are now ramping up again. It is believed that Milan will make at least one signing, with the centre-back position being a priority.

If that ends up being an expensive one, it’s difficult to imagine another mid-season signing, and so most of the remaining links are likely summer-related. That certainly applies to Yasin Ayari, the 22-year-old midfielder, who has a high price tag.

Big summer move on the cards?

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are keeping a very close eye on the midfielder, who is currently on international duty with Sweden. He has impressed massively with his national team, in addition to doing really well for Brighton in the Premier League.

Last season, he scored four goals and bagged three assists for Brighton, while adding another two goals with Sweden at the World Cup. As the newspaper states, what Milan like the most is his versatility, being able to play as a defensive midfielder, a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder.

The Rossoneri aren’t the only ones interested, though, and the price tag is expected to be a high one. Ayari’s contract expires in 2027 but Brighton have the option to extend it to 2028, which means they will likely ask for more than €40m to part ways with the Swede.

In short, any negotiations will take place in the summer and not in January, as Milan have other priorities than reinforcing the midfield then.
