Tuttosport: Milan could sanction mid-season loan for Comotto amid struggle for minutes
Christian Comotto’s future could become a hot topic again in view of the January transfer window, according to a report.
Milan had a decision to make in the summer regarding whether to loan Comotto out, but they decided to keep him to develop alongside Luka Modric. Despite this, the teenager is yet to play in Serie A or the Europa League.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report this morning, Comotto is yet to get an opportunity under Ruben Amorim in a competitive game for two reasons above all: physical problems that have kept him out, and the competition in his department.
Adrien Rabiot, Luka Modric, Yunus Musah, Ardon Jashari and even Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all ahead of the 18-year-old in the pecking order at the moment, and that is making it difficult to get any game time at all, let alone a start.
As a result of this, the paper claims that Milan could consider loaning Comotto out for the second half of the season. Parma and Monza were the two teams who made moves for the Milan academy graduate in the summer window.
It cannot be ruled out that they come forward again, and it would allow Comotto to head to a team in the Italian top flight, to help his adaptation. With lots of games coming up in the next few weeks though, the Italy U21 international could get some chances to play.
