Tuttosport: Krösche back on Milan’s radar with Eintracht split possible – the situation

AC Milan did not welcome Markus Krösche at the start of the summer despite it looking like everything was done, but it might not be over yet.

Tuttosport (via TMW) report this morning that the name of Krosche could re-enter Milan’s orbit. Reports from Germany indicate the manager could part ways with Eintracht Frankfurt in the coming days.

This is a situation worth monitoring closely at Casa Milan, given what happened earlier this summer. Krösche had been long courted by the Rossoneri, and there was great confidence within the club in the possibility of bringing him to Milan.

Eintracht, however, took a hard line, preventing his departure and reminding him of his existing contract. Krösche could be released after the transfer window closes, and that could change everything.

The missing man?

The 45-year-old’s contract reportedly contains a clause that would allow him to leave Eintracht after the current mercato is over. It remains to be seen whether Krösche actually decides to exercise it.

The idea of joining Milan could become concretely viable again, as the club are yet to permanently fill the technical director position. After evaluating various candidates to replace Igli Tare, they went for a ‘temporary internal solution’.

This meant promoting Hendrik Almstadt to director of player trading and Bobby Gardiner to director of football intelligence. However, the role of technical director remains vacant, and the feeling is that the club could benefit from someone being closer to the squad.

Krösche, moreover, already expressed his approval of Ruben Amorim’s appointment as head coach after the likes of Ralf Rangnick and Oliver Glasner were linked. This further development could put him back at the centre of the Rossoneri’s thinking should the split from Eintracht actually materialise.
