Djed Spence has finally trained with his new Inter teammates almost a month after his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur, and while he will be hoping to make his Nerazzurri debut in the near future, reports in Italy suggest that he may still have to bide his time for a first outing in San Siro.

Spence was pictured in training by club photographers on Thursday, with reports from various outlets in Italy confirming that he trained with the first-team group.

This is the first time that the England international has trained with the Inter first team since completing his €35m summer transfer from Tottenham.

The 26-year-old was given an extended break after his run to the World Cup semi-final with England over the summer, and according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, he also came back with a minor physical issue that forced him to miss the final stages of pre-season.

That would explain why he has not yet featured for the Nerazzurri, while fellow England World Cup squad member John Stones has already featured three times after his move to San Siro earlier this summer.

Spence could have potentially trained three times by the time that Inter’s next match comes around, on Monday night at home against Udinese in Serie A, but according to reports from SportMediaset, the Nerazzurri management are in no hurry to rush him back.

In fact, SportMediaset suggests that Inter’s first match after the international break, at home against Parma on October 10, is the date that has been pencilled in for Spence’s debut.

Cristian Chivu has found success in Spence’s right wing-back position in the form of converted central midfielder Andy Diouf, who has started in three of Inter’s four competitive matches in the early stages of the 2026-27 season. Luis Henrique started against Cagliari and is also still available for selection.
