Sky: Lazio resume talks with free agent Icardi
Sky Sport Italia reports that Lazio have resumed talks with ex-Inter and Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi, who is still available as a free agent.
Sky has resumed talks with the agent of Argentine striker Icardi, reports Sky Sport.
Icardi reportedly open to Lazio move
Icardi’s representative confirmed talks with the Biancocelesti at the end of August, and according to the latest updates from Sky, negotiations have resumed in recent hours.
According to the report, Icardi is now open to moving to Lazio on a free transfer, and further talks will take place in the coming hours, including with coach Gennaro Gattuso.
Even if the summer transfer window for Serie A clubs is closed, Icardi could still join Lazio, as he currently has no club after Galatasaray decided against extending his contract beyond June 2026.
Icardi, 33, has already played in Serie A with Sampdoria and Inter, scoring 121 goals in 219 Serie A appearances.
He left Inter for PSG in 2020 and then joined Galatasaray two years later, netting 77 goals in 134 games with the Turkish giants.
