Sky: Key Lazio man out vs. Milan due to surgery while Loftus-Cheek should start

There is some late team news to bring ahead of AC Milan’s game against Lazio in Rome this evening.

Defence has been one of Lazio’s biggest strengths this season, having conceded just one goal in their opening three games. A big part of that new-found resilience was Danilho Doekhi’s addition at centre-back on a free transfer from Union Berlin, to replace Milan-bound Mario Gila.

A statement on the official Lazio website reads as follows: “Yesterday, Danilho Doekhi underwent osteosynthesis surgery with a plate and screws to treat a spiral fracture of the second metacarpal of his left hand. The surgery was performed at San Pietro Fatebenefratelli Hospital by Professor Franceschi and his team.”

According to Sky, summer signing Josip Sutalo will replace the Dutchman. The predicted XI is therefore: Mandas; Floriani, Sutalo, Provstgaard, Tavares; Frattesi, Belahyane, Taylor; Isaksen, Pinamonti, Zaccagni.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim could make a surprise move too: Sky reports that the Portuguese coach has decided to field Ruben Loftus-Cheek from the start instead of Adrien Rabiot, but he won’t be dropped.

Instead, the Frenchman should move back into midfield alongside Luka Modric. In this case Yunus Musah would start on the bench for the first time so far this season, as would Ardon Jashari.
