Sala pleads Milan and Inter to ‘show the rendering’ with guarantees needed: “Will be ready”

Next month, the next step in building the new San Siro should be completed, with the rendering of the new stadium set to be released.

Both Milan and Inter have had interesting starts to the season and talk of the new stadium has gone onto the back burner. Whilst not a problem, it appears that some are getting a little impatient with the lack of updates.

However, it’s not as if the clubs are behind. The plan was always for the next step to be taken next month and Foster+Partners and Manica will release the render of the design next month, according to recent reports.

Sala begs Milanese clubs for update

Speaking on the sidelines of the general meeting of Assimpredil Ance, Beppe Sala spoke to Sportmediaset and his words about the new San Siro were relayed by MilanNews.

“I hope that the clubs will show the new rendering of the stadium very soon and that they will guarantee that the new stadium will be ready for the 2032 European Championships.”

When will San Siro be demolished?

“The demolition of the Meazza? We’re talking about 2033. Frankly, I can’t understand why there’s so much attention being paid to talking about it now.”

Considering the importance of having the stadium completed by 2032 – and the opening, which is set in advance of that date – the clubs should be fine.
