After Diego Moreira, Jorge Mendes has proposed Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde to AC Milan, according to a report.

Balde has suffered from several physical problems over the last three years and it has led to suggestions that Barcelona are open to offloading him. According to Fabrizio Romano (via Calciomercato.com), Mendes proposed him to Milan during Wednesday’s transfer meeting.

However, he also went on to state that the Milan directors told the agent they are not interested in pursuing Balde. It is believed that Barcelona would want €40m to sell the wing-back, and the Rossoneri have just invested more than that on Diego Moreira.

Davide Bartesaghi, Pervis Estupinan, Moreira, Alexis Saelemaekers and Samuel Chukwueze are all players who can play on the flanks in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1, and that’s without considering other solutions such as Milan Futuro players and utility men like Yunus Musah.

The plan for the final part of the window is clear: Milan intend to sign a quality central defender and an attacking midfielder capable of scoring a significant number of goals. That would complete the squad available to Ruben Amorim, in their eyes at least.

The 22-year-old played 28 times in LaLiga last season, with two assists to his name. He has been left out of the matchday squad by Hansi Flick for Barca’s season opener.
