Romano: ‘Here we go’ – Milan set to sign Moreira for €50m plus add-ons
Today, AC Milan have made another huge move in the mercato with the addition of Diego Moreira from Strasbourg.
There has been a bit of silence from Milan in the mercato recently; however, they have ended that with a major splash. Indeed, the signing of Moreira represents another huge investment from Gerry Cardinale into Ruben Amorim.
As Football Kush reported, the wing-back is seen as ideal for the Portuguese’s system. So, this signing is not only an endorsement of the head coach, but of the player himself.
Spending his youth career with Standard Liege and Benfica, he moved to Chelsea and then Strasbourg after a loan spell in the 2023/24 season, playing nine times for Lyon.
Moreira to Milan
Joining the French club for less than €10 million, they are set to record a huge profit, with Fabrizio Romano reporting on X that the deal with the Rossoneri is set to be worth at least €50m.
“AC Milan agree deal to sign Diego Moreira from RC Strasbourg, here we go! Verbal agreement with paperwork being prepared at a €50m fee plus add-ons and a sell-on clause. More details to follow.
“Moreira only wanted AC Milan despite bids from Germany and UK.”
