Romano: Fofana could join Leao at Galatasaray as Milan are open to loan formula
Youssouf Fofana could join Rafael Leao in making the move to Galatasaray this summer, according to a report, with AC Milan willing to let him leave on loan.
Fofana is one of four players who were put in Milan’s bomb squad earlier this season, along with the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Santiago Gimenez and Fikayo Tomori. Nkunku has already left, so now work is ongoing to offload the others.
It has previously been suggested that Fofana won’t push for an exit, despite not being part of the regular squad, but it seems things could change on that front. Indeed, Milan’s stance on the formula could result in attractive clubs (in the Frenchman’s eyes) reaching out.
Fofana wants Galatasaray move
According to the latest from Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray asked Milan for information on Fofana during the Leao negotiations. Obviously, since they were so focused on getting that deal over the line, they couldn’t spend time on the midfielder as well.
However, now that Leao has arrived in Turkey to complete his move, the matter could be revisited. Romano reports that Fofana would like to join the club and that Milan are willing to let him leave on loan. In other words, it seems everything is there to make a deal happen.
It should be noted that the Turkish transfer window closes a little later, so there might not be the same urgency to close the deal quickly.
