Romano: Bondo ‘decided to remain’ with Milan but late departure cannot be ruled out

Warren Bondo is something of a forgotten player at AC Milan, given he has played just 164 minutes for the club. Now Fabrizio Romano has provided an update about his future.

Before signing Bondo, Milan had been interested in the Frenchman for a decent bit of time. They’d assessed the deal and Geoffrey Moncada was a big fan, having followed him since his time in France.

So, with the Rossoneri in need of a midfielder – after Ismael Bennacer’s last-minute departure – they turned to Monza, where Bondo was available.

That season, he played just 164 minutes for the Rossoneri and since then, he’s moved even further into the background, spending last season on loan with Cremonese and this summer hasn’t been much different. He’s remained heavily in the shadows.

Bondo expected to stay

As relayed by Milan Posts on X, Romano reports that Bondo will now stay at AC Milan after no deal was agreed on deadline day.

“Bondo has decided to remain at Milan and fight for his place after no agreement was reached with clubs from Turkey, Saudi Arabia or Qatar. A departure remains possible if a late offer arrives from an open market.”

Whether he’ll now be given another chance remains to be seen, but it’s another failed departure for the summer…
