Roma will continue to hunt for a speedster in January after their late scramble to find one in the summer didn’t yield results. They also saved some money because of the structure of the Rodrigo Mora deal.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi are monitoring new and old names for the position. They are poised to compete with Milan to bring in Endrick, who could leave Real Madrid on loan if he continues to struggle to get minutes.

Roma haven’t forgotten about Jaime Leweling, who was very close to joining in the summer. His price tag could dip a little because he’s not a fixture like in the past. The same goes for Jamie Gittens, who has yet to play in the Premier League this campaign.

The Giallorossi are interested in Giorgi Kvernadze, who’s one of the early revelations in Serie A. However, it’ll be hard to convince Frosinone to let him go midseason. Instead, he could be a little easier to acquire Luiz Henrique from Zenit, but he’s left-footed.

Our Take on Roma

Endrick could be a nice high-upside acquisition, but only if there’s an option to sign him permanently, which Real Madrid will be reluctant to grant. They don’t really need another lefty if Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé are healthy, but adding talent is always welcome. He’d make more sense for Milan.

As for the other options, buying in January comes at a premium for centerpieces, which is the main problem in the Kvernadze chase, but there are usually new options because some players aren’t featuring as regularly as they’d like. Still, it’s possible that Mora will blossom, making the idea of adding another attacker moot.
