Roma are ready to explore a swap deal involving Matias Soule and Christopher Nkunku with AC Milan, according to a report.

Milan have told Nkunku that he isn’t part of the plans for the upcoming season. Furthermore, a few measures have been taken to really get the message through to the Frenchman: he will no longer take part in group training and he won’t be called up for the next games.

In other words, the forward will have to find a new club if he wants to play at all during the 2026-27 season, with his agents already at work on this front. One of Milan’s league rivals, namely Roma, could come forward with an offer.

Swap deal on the cards?

According to La Repubblica this morning (via LaRoma24), Roma are in talks over a deal for Porto’s Rodrigo Mora, but it’s a complex negotiation that might not get over the line. And with time running out, as well as the pushing of Gian Piero Gasperini, the Giallorossi are ready to look elsewhere.

The sporting director Tony D’Amico has requested further information on Nkunku, who was already a target of theirs in January. While the price tag would be relatively high (around €28m), a swap deal could be explored to make it all happen: Nkunku in exchange for Matias Soule.

The attacking midfielder has been on Milan’s radar the entire summer and could be the perfect addition to Amroim’s attack. One of the main issues, however, is that Roma cannot afford Nkunku’s hefty salary (€5m net per year), so he would have to come down.
