Reports: Milan insisting on Arsenal youngster Nwaneri but first offer was rejected
AC Milan have submitted an offer for Ethan Nwaneri, according to multiple reports, but it was immediately rejected by Arsenal.
Milan have put themselves in a rather difficult position as several players still need to be sold, with just two weeks left of the transfer market. Furthermore, head coach Ruben Amorim has requested five to six signings, which doesn’t exactly lighten the load.
One of the positions that needs reinforcing is attacking midfield, especially since the Rossoneri have decided to exclude Christopher Nkunku from the squad completely. On this front, there has already been some movement according to reports.
First offer rejected
This morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Milan sent an offer to Arsenal for the 19-year-old Ethan Nwaneri a few days ago: a loan with an option to buy at €40m. However, it was immediately rejected by the Gunners.
As added by Matteo Moretto (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri have indeed had an offer rejected for Nwaneri, but they are still trying to get a deal over the line. For now, Arsenal aren’t open to that formula but things could perhaps change towards the end of the window.
The pink newspaper states that Midtjylland’s Dario Osorio and Roma’s Matias Soule are the alternatives as things stand.
