Report Sutalo ready for Lazio, loan from Ajax with option to buy for total €12m
Multiple reports suggest Lazio have agreed terms with Ajax for Croatian defender Josip Sutalo, on loan for €2.5m with option to buy for a further €8-9m at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old was a big investment for Ajax when arriving from Dinamo Zagreb for €20.5m in the summer of 2023.
However, he has suffered from recurring injury problems, still making 108 competitive appearances over two years in Amsterdam.
Sutalo terms for Lazio transfer
There are differing versions of the exact terms of the deal, but Lazio are on the verge of completing this swoop.
According to Sportitalia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà, it is a paid loan for €2.5m with option to buy at the end of the season for a further €8-9m.
The version provided by Sky Sport Italia expert Gianluca Di Marzio is €3m for the loan with option to buy that becomes an obligation if certain conditions are met.
It is believed that the Croatia international centre-back has already agreed a four-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico, rejecting more lucrative proposals from the Saudi Pro League so that he could remain in European football.
He represented Croatia in the 2026 World Cup.
