Report – Milan Weigh Summer Bid for Red Star Prodigy
Milan have reportedly joined Inter and several other top teams in the race to sign Red Star Belgrade teen sensation Vasilije Kostov. According to Matteo Moretto via Calciomercato, the Rossoneri could soon launch an official bid for the in-demand 18-year-old forward.
Kostov enjoyed a stellar breakout season at the Rajko Mitic Stadium, making an eye-catching 21 goal contributions in his maiden senior campaign. He has continued in the same vein at the start of the new season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the first three league games of 2026/27.
The product of Red Star’s famed youth academy, Kostov has already established himself as one of the hottest prospects in European football. In addition to Inter, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich have all been keeping close tabs on the youngster’s development.
Milan have now entered the race, with the San Siro giants looking to replace the exit-bound Rafael Leao.
Our take on Milan & Kostov
Ruben Amorim has put Leao on the chopping block, but Milan have yet to receive a satisfying proposal. However, it’s only a matter of time before the Portuguese winger finds a new club. Moreover, Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez are also on their way out.
Therefore, Milan must sign at least one more forward this summer after breaking the club’s transfer record to land Goncalo Ramos. Kostov would be an exciting addition, though he’d be an investment in the future rather than an immediate solution to Milan’s attacking needs.
