Report: Arsenal sent scouts to watch Inter’s Esposito in Turkey 1-4 Italy
Monday’s reports claim that Premier League champions Arsenal sent scouts to watch Inter centre-forward Francesco Pio Esposito in action during Italy’s recent 4-1 victory away against Turkey in the Nations League.
Report: Arsenal scouts watched Esposito in Turkey 1-4 Italy
Esposito has established himself as one of Europe’s hottest young strikers after an impressive breakthrough campaign in Inter’s double-winning 2025-26 campaign.
He has started the 2026-27 season with two goals and an assist from four Serie A starts and following his goal against Turkey last Monday, he is now scoring at a quicker rate for the Italy national team than the legendary Roberto Baggio and at a better rate than any player since Gigi Riva with a record of six goals from 11 caps (0.55 goals per game).
Unsurprisingly, his feats have attracted the interest of several of Europe’s biggest clubs, even if Inter are adamant that he is the present and future of the club’s forward line.
Arsenal are among the clubs reportedly interested in Esposito, and according to Monday’s reports from TeamTalk, Mikel Arteta’s side sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action during Italy’s 4-1 win over Turkey in Bursa last week.
The Nerazzurri academy graduate netted Italy’s fourth goal on the night, which came after strikes from Alessandro Bastoni, Davide Frattesi and Michael Kayode.
TeamTalk claims that Arsenal have also kept a close eye on Esposito during the early stages of the 2026-27 season as well.
Inter remain confident that Esposito is in a good place, and are confident that the new and improved contract that runs until the summer of 2032, which he signed in September, will act as a deterrent from the interested Premier League clubs.
