AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale is hunting for the right Head of Football, and the list of candidates has been drawn up.

This morning’s edition of the newspaper Quotidiano Sportivo (via MilanNews) has the following headline on the front page, related to the pursuit of a new director: “Not just Krosche: AC Milan are also evaluating Boto and Ozek.”

Cardinale is working to improve and strengthen the club’s organisational structure, which lacks a Head of Football. The Milan owner’s goal is to appoint him soon so he can begin planning for the upcoming winter transfer window with the head coach Ruben Amorim.

In recent days, there has been renewed talk of Markus Krosche, the current director of Eintracht Frankfurt. Milan were close to hiring him over the summer, but then the German club – annoyed by the leaks – decided to put up strong resistance.

Cardinale is also considering other names, including José Boto (the sporting director of Flamengo) and Devin Ozek (formerly of Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahçe, currently without a club).

The international break will give Cardinale and the other members of the management time to sit down and strategise, hoping to find the right person to take the reins and be a link between the various departments of the club.
